 French press for poppy tea

After hearing about how great a bodum press is for making tea I decided to buy one today as i just happened to see it at the store. I'm very dissapointed. Unless I'm doing it wrong (which is impossible) it sucks. Grinding pods to the finest powder possible is best for optimum extraction but you can't do that with a french press it just clogs the filter and you cant plunge and what does come through is all gritty still .

See if you can put a coffee filtrer over the filter thats built in, It might go really slow but it shouldnt be gritty at all

On the original topic: Presses are great for direct extraction of essential oils in things like tea and coffee, but in both of those products you have to use a very coarse grind/whole leaf tea.
Since the flavor isn't what you're going for in a pod extraction, it doesn't make any sense to use a press.

I dont get why people claim they work so great then. I knew it wouldnt make it any "better" Im just tired of feeling like I get carpal tunnel everytime I want to wring out every last bit thru a t shirt so I figured it would be a lot easier. Lots of people who drink poppy tea regularly on shroomery swear by the bodum press but o well it was only 10 bucks.

Maybe they grind it more coarsely. 
If you set a coffee grinder to a coarse grind, its still relatively fine, and maybe with very hot water and an extended time in the press you would acheive acceptable results.
