3 day old seedlings with spider mites?

So I have 10 seedlings which are all planted into small pots. A few of the plants have little red bugs crawling on the leaves (all the plants only have 2 leaves). What gives?
What did I do wrong and what can I do now?

So does soap and water actually work? Do you leave it on for 20 minutes? These are really young plants. I'll try to post pics after dinner but I dont know if my camera will get that close up. We'll see.

Has anyone tried 1:1 water and alcohol? I may just stop in at the local hydro store tomorrow and pick something up.

Hmmm...alcohol sprayed on plants. Yeah, seems like a GREAT idea!

3 days old? Rinse em off real good. Spider mites hate water (that's not a joke by the way) The more humid the room is the slower they grow. When it rains they run to the underside of the leaves (they are there most of the time actually) cause they are for lack of better wording right now easily fucked with by high wind and like I said rain. So long story short they rinse off pretty easy. Since the plants are so small I'd go that rout rather then using any kind of sprays or dips.

Well I didnt use alcohol because I was thinking the same thing. lol. I picked up an organic solution called Bang today. I sprayed them with water last night until I couldnt see anything noticeable. Sure enough they were back this morning. I'll try the Bang tonight and see what happens. Thanks for all the tips. I'll let you all know how it goes. You can be sure of that

You need to figure out where those bitches are coming from. If your plants are only a few days old they are obviously coming from somewhere else within your grow area. Have you recently brought a bunch of house plants in from outside? Regardless you're going to have an on-going fight with them until you eliminate them at the source.

Well thats part of my problem. I live on the 10th floor in an apartment. We had a house plant on the balcony and brought it in for the winter. Not only that but we have 2 dogs which come in and out of my grow area (the plants are just out in the open - sort of). I'm keeping the door to the room closed now and no dogs allowed in the room at all. I've been guilty of coming in after walking the dogs in the field outside our building and checking out my plants. I'm going to check the houseplant tonight as well. The houseplant is not in the same room as my plants but its just down the hallway and if the door to the room is open, I can see it.
The only thing that sucks about keeping the door closed is it eliminates any airflow through the room itself. So its a bit warmer in the room with the plants than any other room in the house.
In case you're wondering what sort of in the open means, I have a 2 foot high by 1 foot deep by 2 feet wide box sitting on the floor with my plants inside under CFLs. I cut a hole in the side of the box from the ground to about 3/4 of the way up and I have a fan sitting on the floor blowing air into the box. The fan wont really fit in the box so this was my only option.
