Earlier this month, Los Angeles District Attorney Steven Cooley announced that he intends to prosecute all of the county's storefront medical marijuana dispensing collectives. You may read a related article in the L.A. Times by clicking here.
I would suggest that those of you who support a Californian's access to medical marijuana, in the least use this online form to share your thoughts with the DA's office. You can also take the extra and potentially more impactful step of composing a written letter and mailing it to the following two addresses (I have included a copy of the letter I wrote earlier today, though I would strongly advise you to tailor it to your own personal belief and wording!).
District Attorney's Office County of Los Angeles 210 W Temple St, Suite 18000 Los Angeles, CA 90012
LA County DA's Office Major Narcotics Division 320 W Temple St, Room 345 Los Angeles, CA 90012

He's trying to shut down dispensaries who are for profit......When the law says they are supposed to be non-profit? Maybe write the people who wrote the law a letter.

"In August, Cooley and Sheriff Lee Baca sent a letter to all mayors and police chiefs in the county, saying that they believed over-the-counter sales were illegal and encouraging cities to adopt permanent bans on dispensaries."
He is targeting ALL dispensaries. If he is successful, the dispensary concept will be GONE. He maintains that ALL MMJ dispensaries are for profit, and therefore over the counter sales of MMJ are illegal.
"The vast, vast, vast majority, about 100%, of dispensaries in Los Angeles County and the city are operating illegally, they are dealing marijuana illegally, according to our theory," he said. "The time is right to deal with this problem."
Oh, and he's retarded apparently 100% is just a majority.
The "not-for-profit" banter is just a smokescreen so that the DA has a reason to go after the dispensaries.
