I'd have stashed the stash somewhere nearby and gone up to his appt to check out what was going on up there. And to judge the situation a bit more. Money's money.

You definately did the right thing man. Im the same kind of person as you, I dont like dealing with cops or being paranoid about anything to do with them. Your own peace of mind is worth more than getting fucked over for. In all aspects this guy sounds sketchy as fuck. He wants way too much information way to fast. Either that or he is just one weird dude you dont want to be associated with anyway. Good call.
