It needs to sit for awhile. The soil is saturated to the point it isn't going to absorb anymore its just going to let it run through.

FOX farms is the only soil I recommend...I mean there are others but its the first I recommend.

budmanman, you clearly need to read up on what pH actually is an how it works because you randomly adding water of a different pH value expecting it to work like simple addition is just plain incorrect.

I'm kinda drunk right now so bear with me, but pH stands for "power of Hydrogen" and it's the inverse log of the concentration of Hydrogen+ ions in solution. the issue with H+ is that it's extremely attracted to other ions (because of its positive charge) so unless it has a reason to get removed (ie, an alternative cation to replace it on the bonding site, or an even more attractive cation grabbing medium to coax it off of it's current bonding site) it's just going to stay put.

adding random high pH solution (rich in OH- ions) doesn't sufficiently neutralize the enormous quantities of H+ ions, you need to find something to actually catalyze a change in the overall soil ecological interaction.

once you get going with soil and your using compulsive calculated feeding cycles.. you can pretty much tell when theres a pH problem, eyeball small amounts of vinegar [for acid] and baking soda [for alkaline] :if you use a lil nutes each weak on your plants, and the solution is alkaline.. add a cap full of vinegar to your gallon.

down the foggy ruins of time, far past the frozen leaves,
the haunted frightened trees, out to the windy beach,
far from the twisted reach, of crazy sorrow.
yes the dance, beneath the diamond sky, with one hand waving free,
silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands,
with all memory and fate, driven deep beneath the waves,
let me forget about today, until tomorrow."~bob dylan

and if you're working with baking soda and vinegar you always need to let it sit for a couple hours before you feed it to your plants, and then sit a little longer in the soil before you test the runoff because the reaction is not instant

Not bad...Best response yet but he doesn't really answer anyone he just starts talking to himself I think...Not sure.

Adding something to the soil is the way to go but also a little more difficult if you've never done it so I dun wanna kill his plant in a few hours and it be my fault...

So how much hydrated lime do I use? Per watering?
Do I add it to the water or just put it on top of the soil and water?

I only tried adjusting one plant.

and its one that has not done as good as my other mom.

I only know its female from pref flowers.

The weakest of my 5 plants has not sexed yet.

So I got 1 unless with nice mommy. unless it ends up Hermie.

Or is baking soda a better alternative?

And again on top of soil or added to the water I water with?

I hate that pH up and down shit...Try using hydrated lime or something...

I use hydrated lime at a teaspoon a gallon. I water with plain water, then flush with the hydrated lime water a few times then finish with a final watering of slightly fertilized solution, about half strength of normal.

Some say baking soda work but I've never used it

Allow your plants to drain properly maybe for a day and let the pH adjusting take effect and then try the hydrated lime...After doing the lime let it sit overnight and recheck the pH...If you need to do it again then do it again and so on. I would rather have a pH a little too low(like yours) than too high

doitbest.com

If you live somewhere that the soil is acidic you should be able to find the hydrated lime locally fairly easily..Or if you live somewhere with a good hydro shop you should be able to find it cheap enough to buy locally since you need the stuff asap

i think budmanman has run enough water through his soil to last a few weeks worth of watering.

to the OP - You need to stop approaching this like a hydro grow.  Fixing a problem does not produce an instantaneous result.  You need to do what you think you need to do to fix the problem, then let it sit for a day or two, then test again.  Otherwise you're just going to kill your plant by trying to fix the problem.
