tragic accident(fan fell on plant) HELP PLEASE!!!!!
    #296634 - 10/13/09 05:13 PM (15 years, 2 months ago)

Someone shoot me!!! i was raising my blueberry#5 closer to the light when the computer fan that i am useing fell and mauled the shit out of it. a few more details, it was on its 23 day of veg haveind its first set of fan leaves about 3 inches accross. When the fan hit it it severed the top completely off leaving the nodes directly under un touched. loss of 2 smaller fan leaves near the bottom and half of one of the largest on the top.

my question is, what measures should i take, or is it a lost cause?

got any pics of the damage? i dont really think there is too much you can do besides some TLC and just keeping an eye on it.

if you have cracked stems you can use copper wire as a "splint".  Coil it around the stem so it is held in place like it should be.  If the damage isn't too severe, the plant should heal itself in a couple weeks.  But i would expect any growth to cease, as the plant is focusing its energy on healing.

Check out this thread below, found it real quick for you...

cant really tell specifically how much damage it got from the description but if it doesnt look too bad then keep it in veg. till it grows out again and makes up for the lost foliage (which it will if its not that bad)..... think of it as the fan "topped" your plant

few days ago i was adjusting my hood and a piece of the suspention broke and swung the hood into my tallest [by 4"] female [1 of 3 northern lights 2.5' tall] snapped her whole top as well as 2 major fan and distorted and shock bent the long branch outs. 2 weeks into flowering so the stress was expected to be off the wall.. BUT the plant recovered over night 10 fold and now was 4 main colas that used to be weaker sub node growth AND she is now the same size as the other girls :happyweed:

just goes to show you once they get going they can take more abuse than the andys bar telephone on saturday nights.

"and take me disappearing, through the smoke rings of my mind,
down the foggy ruins of time, far past the frozen leaves,
the haunted frightened trees, out to the windy beach,
far from the twisted reach, of crazy sorrow.
yes the dance, beneath the diamond sky, with one hand waving free,
silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands,
with all memory and fate, driven deep beneath the waves,
let me forget about today, until tomorrow."~bob dylan
