Indoors just harvest the buds and leave the rest and put it back under 18 hrs of light and it will start to revert.
Outdoors the same thing but you just have to hope the stump or whatever you leave starts to grow again in the spring. Best done in areas that don't get below freezing in the winter for long periods of time.
