electrical problem
    #295284 - 10/11/09 10:57 AM (15 years, 1 month ago)

this place i know of has old wires and two glas fuses at 20amps apice. But the whole apartment runs off of one breaker in the basement. The glass ones in the apartment should pop first i hope. But if i up those two 20amp fuses to 30 amps will there be a chance that the wires will catch on fire if that is done.

yep, the fuses are there to protect the wires from getting their capacity exceeded. if you up the breakers without making sure the wires can handle it, all you've effectively done is eliminate your safety shutoff switch
