So I got a tent that has sewing seems everywhere and they all let in light. Even the zipper lets in light. I get in the tent with the lights on in the room and zip myself in there. As soon as I get in I can see light coming in from the zippers. Once my eyes adjust I can see light coming in from the sewing seems around the edges.
Is this bad? I've read that the room needs to be 100% light proof and a little light leaking in while the lights are on their 12 hour off cycle is very bad.
But when you grow outdoors you get moonlight and ambient night time light... its never really pitch black. So what gives?
Yes, this is bad. Either your plants wont flower, or they will hind of half-ass flower and take longer and not produce as much. They might even stress out and go hermie on you. Cover that shit with another tarp or something.
Ok fair enough. I started taping the seems with duct tape but that didnt help much. So I'm going over it with foil tape. But if light still leaks through I'll go pick up some black tarps.
No idea about the moonlight. I am not an expert on genetics but I think that many strains of cannabis are so selectively bred indoors that they require total darkness to live up to their full potential. Some outdoor plants can probably flower fine with a lot of moonlight, but I would think that most strains would have trouble. When I grew outdoors I grew in pots that I would move inside at night.
Ah I see. Well the foil tape seems to be working good on the sewing seems. I'll probably pick up a tarp to cover the zipper parts since I cant tape them
