Flushing and taste

i just smoked a doobie. it tasted like fertilizer. i'm guessing the grower didn't flush before harvest, or if he flushed, didn't do a good job. anhyway, that was a nasty roach, tasted all chemical. i am on my first grow and do NOT want to smoke fertilizer leftovers. what are some good flushing teks? I'm sure this is an important matter that a lot of noobs like myself want to know. so if you have any tips or teks, please contribute.
thanks

Is a 16 year old guy having sex w/a 16 year old girl a pedophile?
If not, then how is a 30 year old considered a pedophile for doing the same thing?
I think y'all need to look up the definition for pedophile.

are you serious? what purpose does that solve? to rinse out all the fert?
i mean i hear people flush multiple times weekly etc. which makes sense if you are using a DWC or something of the likes.
i dont know, im confused. and doing lots of research before i start my grow.

it rinses out all the salts that have built up in the soil during the grow. By feeding the plant nothing but plain water for the last week or two you ensure your plant will be absorbing nothing but water by harvest time and will taste naturally delicious.

I've heard varying things about the molasses. Some say it's because the plant loves the sugars and uses them for THC production, and others say it's simply for taste. I don't really have any idea if either of those claims are true though

The sugars part is tru, however you should be feeding your plants the sugars during the flowering cycle. When you flush you just want plain water. The last week or so your plants should receive nothing but plain water regardless of what medium you grow in. Leftover salts are more common in hydro grows where growers use chemical salts to fertilize their plants. While soil growers can experience the same problem it's not as common as a hydro grow. This is especially true if you're using 100% organic ferts. Regardless it's always good to give your plants at least one flush during the flowering cycle to remove any excess that may have built up. It's totally optional, and you can get through a grow without having to do it, but it can be beneficial especially if you're having problems.

there's a small pictorial on how to flush. It's not that hard, it can just be time consuming and a PITA.
