ok guys, so I topped one of my plants today to promote more growth.
My current situation calls for the need for me to start flowering on Tuesday (October 6th).
Will I experience any complications or excess stress by changing the photo-period right after I have topped the plant?

I've never topped a plant during flowering, but I accidentally burned the top off with the light (oops) about a week after I switched the light cycle and that plant came out great

thats good news. I have 4 plants right now from bagseed. They show no preflowers. I am doing everything in my power to reduce and eliminate any kind of stress to reduce the chances of a hermie. For some reason I am bugging out and I dont think im going to get any females...
in ur experience with bagseed do u think i can realistically get 2 females out of these 4 plants??

I just grew out 2 seeds and they both came out female. By the definition of how sexual genetics work you should theoretically get 1/2 females everytime. it doesn't always work that way, but the odds are in your favor

allright thanks Harry, i can deal with those odds...
but whats the real deal with hermies?
Why did the gross schwagg these seeds came from have seeds in it anyway?
was it most likely pollinated or hermied out?
And how does schwag get to look like such shit. After being a memeber of this site for a little while, it almost seems hard to grow such bad looking weed. I know that there is definetly something to be said about growing and smoking pure top of the line genetics, but I am a firm believer in the fact that you can grow some serious dank with almost any seeds if done skillfully and correctly.

Schwag is the result of poor drying and packaging. Most mexican brick is dried in great pile underneath the sun. The internal heat generated from the plants, plus the heat from the sun, plus the direct light from the sun contribute to potency loss and browning of the buds. Then, to further add insult to injury, the weed is then usually compressed into bricks. This process may also add heat as well, but for the most part it's the destruction of the trichome glands that leads to a reduction in potency.
You can also factor in how and where they store the pot as well. Something tells me that some drug cartel is going to care more about quantity then of quality when growing/harvesting/shipping their product.

wow that sucks, never new how the weed actually got that shitty...
but where do the seeds most likey come from in most brick weed? Is it through pollination, or from being hermies?
I'm just concerned that all this work will be for nothing if they hermie out and/or turn male because the mother plant was a hermie.

If it came from brick, the great likelihood is that it has seeds because it was pollenated.
The cashcroppers that produce that shit don't care about pulling males, so its basically a big open pollination.
If you grow those seeds though, sometimes you can strike gold.

Weeeeeeell not true. Figure this. There are millions of seeds here from shwagg smoke if they grew killer plants nobody would be buying seeds.
Grow a Mexican plant from shwagg weed next to a Skunk#1 which has a lot of Mexican in it also. The skunk will be the better plant. No matter how good a grower you are you will be limited by the genitics you pick.

probably, but realize that there is a distinct chance one of the seeds you have came from a great plant. While said plant may not be as nice as something you get from a breeder, it still has the potential to produce some tasty herb
