Well here we get these stupid asian beetles that look just like ladybugs, and they bite like a motherfucker. But they get everywhere in the winter. So I kill as many of them as I can. I might have killed some lady bugs in the process.

I've been using them for 2 weeks now. They have helped a lot but not cured the problem. I have white flies. Next time I will also get Pirate Bugs. Maybe not there $41 per 100.
Praying Mantis would be cool in a garden.

heh i have a few mantis pods i found around the garden during my clean up last year that I am saving in hopes they pop hundreds of little buggers come spring.
but on the ladybug thing from my time in pops' greenhouse i will tell you they do tend to go everywhere. when they get cold they fly up and die in your lights when they get thirsty they go and drown in your resivior it's just something you have to accept. the only other choices are neem oil which i am not sure will stop a full on mite invasion and pyrithrum sprays. It's either pick out a bunch of dead lady bugs or spray and pick out a bunch of dead mites.

I wondered the same thing.

To KaptKid make sure you are removing the top layer of soil every couple days to get rid of the new white fly larvae. If you do this and kill the mature ones you should be rid of them pesky guys in no time. I'm fighting a spider mite problem right now on a couple of my plants. Luckily I caught it before it got to all of my plants. I'm using Azamax though, I wish I could rely on ladybugs to do the job.
