Changing My Major

I didnt really enjoy my Accounting and/or Economics classes the first year of school. Now im in the second year and it's even worse. So basically I have started looking for a new major
Sort of been leaning toward Sustainability program here at ASU. Learning about alternative energies and such. Education is another possible choice, but it seems retarded to spend all this money on college to become a teacher
Feel free to post your majors and offer any ideas

the nice thing about a career in sciences is that your education means you can become a professor later, and they make very nice money. I would do the sustainability thing (but maybe find a better focus for it, like hydrological resource allocation), and then use that degree to work in the field for awhile, and then either found your own startup, or become a professor to pass on your experience.

Im just hoping I can have my Accounting classes taken out of my GPA if I decide to drop out of the business school. Right now I am failing both ACC241 and ECN212

I think Sustainability wins, the other option was something in the field of Construction

Sucks man. That's pretty shitty.
I'm a Neurology major. I don't have to take classes like that. I'd fail 'em, too. That shit is a pain in the ass.
Luckily, my credit requirements aren't too hard either. I just have a lot of biology classes to take care of. But I enjoy taking them.
WTF is a Sustainability major?
Is that like Ecology or something?

Oh shit. That's pretty cool.
Yeah, accounting doesn't really sound like a rewarding major.
You'd just be a cubicle jockey crunching numbers and getting buttfucked by your boss.

Once oil and fossil fuels are out of the picture, you'll have a lot of options with that degree. Geothermal energy, solar energy, wind enegery, fuel cell, etc.
In due time, my friend. In due time.

the only problem is that there are a ton of people who are getting degrees in just that category right now, so that's why I suggested you find a smaller niche that interests you and attempt to dominate that way.

We'll see. I got an appointment for Monday morning to meet with an adviser. I dont think I need to focus on a specific area for a couple semesters yet so that should give me enough time to get my feet wet and figure out what I want to do

That sucks man. Maybe a couple of those lower level bus classes will count as electives toward your new major, whatever you choose. Have you heard of the InnovationSpace Program at your school? It's physically located in the School of Architecture but there are four different departments and three colleges that participate. Or was when i was there.

That sounds like something you might be interested in.

I was just getting across, you can be a non-science proff.
I don't see Banez getting a ph.d anytime soon.

Considering I am a sophomore in college and just switched my degree I would say you are right.

I got switched over to B.S in Sustainability with a focus in International Development. The requirements arent too bad and the courses seem pretty chill
