in hydroponics how do you whisk the water up the geolite?

i've looked at systems using geolite with 6 or more individual containers inside one large container. what device allows the water to 'shoot' or whisk up the geolite high enough that the seed and new root structures can get access to water?

What exact hydro system are you talking about?
Sounds like a medium scale RDWC.
If so, the roots suck up water, and the pump circulates it from the resevoir throughout the whole system.

A custom one, however, I've seen several that have a water reservoir and inside it - there's of course water but then there's also an ebb and flow type of system that mists the water upward into each respective plant holding section.

Yeah, sounds like an aeroponic system by what you said in the last statement. What you described first sounds like a dwc. This is a DWC system by Integra21 on our site.
This is an aeroponic system where the nutrient/water is misted onto the roots periodically.
