White isnt working since there is white behind it. I could move the text somewhere else possibly. Anything else you guys would like me to add or remove or change?

Agreed, however there is also something to be said for being able to pull the trigger.
If we drag this out too much we lose attention, and then (kind of like the "first ever Growery gathering") it just never happens.

It looks better but my main complaint is the text. It looks too blocky/generic. I was thinking about developing some letters using cannabis leaves. take out that background and add some layers with different colors of pot leafs (colors that match the bud). I think its also important that all the colors match and don't appear out of place. Just imagine your finished product as an advertisement in a magazine like high times or Time magazine or something a lot of people will see. Would you be proud of your work? lol argue the text with 81 he wanted something more generic I believe. I personally think it looks pretty good. Very pleasing to the eye. The orange and the green in the lettering is from the buds themselves.

Yeah, to me, it isn't generic, its professional.
The rounded gimmicky fonts scream amateur to me.
I do want to see us strive for the best possible designs that each participant can put out there, so here's my thought:
1 month from today is the deadline for submissions.
From now until the 25th of October, feel free to post up what you have for critiques and suggestions from the members.
All designs can be edited and revamped up until the 25th at which time there will be a one week long voting booth.
The selected design will appear on the card to be distributed as the first phase of our marketing campaign.
Thoughts? Comments?

Alright guys, I love doing these like this so I will put a good amount of time to the side to do this, right now I am thinking this is how I would make the cards.
Front side would just say "The Growery", background would be purple and I would have a pattern going on in a greenish type color, then you would flip the card over and it would have some information about the site.
I could pass them out at the next big weed related event in Austin, Oct 2nd I think.
I'll post back here when I have the design and stuff planned out.
Someone give me some tips for the back info though.

I'm thinking that we should keep all the submissions so far, and instead of just modifying one, make a bunch and choose the best several. So keep the text that ren81 likes and then a less generic (or professional  ) style also. We should print up a bunch of different things, some business cards for dispensary and headshop counters, some flyers and some magazine ads.
diversifying instead of just picking one "best" is the best option for maximum viewership

The "come join us at the growery" text looks very stretched out and kind of distended.
Maybe a dried bud shot at the bottom where the smiley is?

Agreed. Plus different people like different things. Good Idea harry. We should make a funny ad too. I like comedy. And it would be good to see that the people here have a sense of humor and arent just stuck up about marijuana. Thats why I like the smiley face haha.

lol I was doing it quick so I dont pay attention to spelling as much. But I will change it with something better. You cant just put "change that" cuz then I dont know what to change it to. So gimme some ideas.

I still feel like it looks a little amateur. No Offense at all Trip, cause I certainly can't do any better myself, but I feel like those text styles all kinda look like someone with print shop deluxe is making a garage sale flyer.
