Im about to harvest for my first time. how should i go abouts getting the plant out of the soil. someone told me pulling the whole plant out roots and all and let it hang for a day or 2 then bring it inside. And how should i dry my plant. In a dark closet with a fan. or should i have a light to help dry.
I cut it at the base of the plant.....pull off all the fan leaves......manicure the snow leaves.......cut it in Y sections to be able to hang it to dry with better airflow around the buds in the dark with ventilation for a few weeks........then toss them in jars to cure for a couple weeks/months or more, but open them daily to exchange the air and sweat the buds to decarboxylate the actives ....... pack in a bong and rip it......enjoy.

if you're going to pull them out, roots and all, make sure you wash the rootball before hanging them up. you don't want dirt clods falling into your sticky buds.
cutting them just above the ground is much easier.

It is a species of intemperance within itself, for it goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation, and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes. A Prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our government was founded." - Abraham Lincoln
