SICK OUTDOOR PLANTS

I have this plant that is turning yellow,it has been in the ground from the start. It is starting to flower.Anyone have an idea what is going on? The flowers look good but it is really shabby. It is seeds from shwag.I have anoither one that is doing this and the stems are a really deep purple/red,and straggly. The soil is very rocky and I had to break it up and pull lots of rocks out,I then put some potting soil in a hole about 1-2 ft by the same depth.could it just be a root growth problem? I had some last year in the same places and no probs with them.Last year I had really good seeds though from some 100 quarter stuff.Could it be a breed type problem?IDK? I also watered them with a molasses mixture (2tb to 2gal) twice last month 2 weeks apart, could I have overfed them?
