Are there any MAPS members that post here? There's going to be a conference in April (to commemorate the 66th anniversary of the discovery of LSD) in San Fran that I really really want to go to. I'm just curious to see if anyone else is a member.
National and international experts will present on the state of the art of psychedelic research and psychedelic psychotherapy studies, including:
* MDMA-(ecstasy) assisted psychotherapy for the treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder * Psychedelic psychotherapy for treating anxiety and depression associated with life-threatening illnesses * Psychedelic psychotherapy research with obsessive-compulsive disorder * Biological and neurological effects of psychedelic substances * Personal meaning and spiritual significance brought about from mystical-type experiences associated with psilocybin * Development of Bromo-LSD as a treatment for cluster headaches * Standards for performing psychedelic psychotherapy research
CME/CE credits will be available for physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and social workers.
The conference is open to the general public.
For registration information email: conference2010@maps.org Check back soon for pricing information.
Confirmed speakers include:
* Dr. Michael and Annie Mithoefer * Dr. Peter and Verena Oehen * Dr. Peter Gasser * Dr. Sergio Marchevsky * Dr. Ingrid Pacey * Dr. Stan Grof * Dr. Andrew Weil (by video link) * Dave Nichols, Ph.D. * Dr. Charles Grob * Dr. Franz Vollenweider * Jose Carlos Bouso, PhD * Jordi Riba, MD * Carolyn Garcia (MG) * With many others still being invited.
The conference will be held at a Silicon Valley Hotel in the San Francisco Bay Area in San Jose, California. It was chosen for its reasonable prices, comfortable meeting and sleeping rooms, and convenient access by plane, automobile, and public transit.
We have chosen these dates to commemorate the 66th anniversary of Albert Hofmann’s discovery of the psychedelic properties of LSD, from April 16-19, 1943.

Has anyone been trained to handle psychedelic emergencies? There are some good videos that will give you a good understanding of the best ways to handle people having bad trips. If you do psychedelics that should be required. Perhaps when it's all legalized we can get to where we need to be with that.

You have a link for any good ones? I think that would be a pretty interesting thing to develop as long as the videos are well done
