Indoor Floro Troublemaker/ Troublemaker x WW grow

Finally got my medical card, and finally ready to start an indoor grow (legally!). This is one of 2 grows I have going at the moment... the other being another soil grow with a 1000watt hps... i'll post a log for that as well soon. This one I'm trying to keep small scale and low effort. I'm using a couple of 4 ft fluorescent tube bulbs (don't yell at me to get better lights, this grow is kind of an experiment to see what can be obtained with a really cheap and simple set up) and currently I have growing 4 troublemaker and 6 troublemaker x white widow (from seeds obtained from a dustfarter ).
Here's my set up. Nothing special, nothing expensive, but I have good feelings about these plants. I'm curious to see how they do:

The two bigger ones are a couple weeks old now (troublemaker), but the others only sprouted on the 6th. Finally got myself a decent stock of nutrients as well, so they should be looking better pretty quick.

Haha, thanks again KK! I am just doing my new log for those seeds as well right now. I'm a little farther along than you, but planted around the same time. Mine are showing what a real strain can do. I can already tell the Hindu x Master Kush is more indica than the WW x Kush. Awesome
Edit: I have 2 of each, the Kush is about 2 weeks old and the WW x Kush is 1.5 weeks old. I put the Kush into flowering a few days ago. I'll only get like 10g per plant but I just want to see what i'm dealing with. The others will be vegged for approx. 21 days then flipped. I also germinated 4 more and got them into soil this morning with 1/2 in. taproots. I expect them to pop up late tommorrow. Anyways good luck and can't wait to compare results with you.

Sorry for any strain confusion.
White Widow X TroubleMaker. Forgot the seed source its in my 1st grow journal. Don't buy from them, old seeds, only 5 out of 13 germinated.
and
TroubleMaker(Hindu Kush) by LowLife seeds
IMO the WW had the best buzz

Hey KaptKid or "Special K" as i'm now calling you! You forget that you gifted me with some goodies as well? You have yet to comment in my Log/Journal on any of it, not just the flowering plant but your grandchildren are growing up fast! Thank you so much. Your love has been spread, and will continue to be spread as I'm going to breed with these genetics, as well as with my strains! Things are going to be for next year as I will have a grab bag of different strains and phenotypes, along with hundreds of seeds.
If I pollinate 2 branches (these branches are large, 16-20 inches) lightly with pollen, about how many seeds you think I can collect? (100-300) somewhere in that ballpark? Thanks again K

Plants are growing steadily, I'll post pics once they've developed a couple more nodes.
In other news, I got the 1000watt hps set up for my other grow... planning a 4x3 or maybe even a 5x3 grow area, depending on how much space this light can accomodate (it's fucking BRIGHT). I'll be starting a journal for that grow as soon as I get the clones for it... hopefully this weekend.

I grow in a 4 x 4 . Does great. Have not had plants to put out in the 5 foot range but if you got the space go 5 x 3.
This may be the begaining of the 1000 Watt Plus Club.

I posted some questions over there. I'll try to keep an eye on this one too. Floros did a great job vegging for me last grow. I veg'd for like 2 months under four florescent lights that were 40w each and i think 3200 lumens each. Heat was never a problem and i just kept the lights a few inches off the top of the plants and they apparently loved it. Not even a lot of stretch. Good luck with both journals!

Thanks! Cool to see floros worked for you, hopefully they'll work for me! (if not, I can always move them over to the hps grow )
I'm excited for these plants! Glad to see people tuning in

Yeah, I'm half-planning on moving them to the other grow area once they're done vegging. I'll wait to see how they do under the floros first though... hope it works

Floros work great from flower to bud.The bud is smaller and lighter(popcorn) but the potency right up there will the 1000 watt.
The best thing I liked was the plant would grow right into the light with getting burned.

is bud density directly correlated to light intensity? I mean I am sure there are genetic factors but can light influence density more than genetics?

I don't know about more than genetics but defiantly a big factor.
On a 3 ft. plant the buds at the top, noticeably had more weight than the buds at the bottom.

Oh yeah for sure... I think it is probably close to 50/50... I have been putting my plant outside almost every day in the last 2 weeks and the buds have become soo dense at the top of each branch that the stem is starting to bend just below the colas, even though the buds are only a little bigger than a bic lighter, and a little fatter. I blame strain and light source. They did seem to be lagging slightly under my 175W MH and now have become so dense I'm dying to try them because I desire dense bud more than anything... I just love it. One bowl and your done, as long as it's even decently potent.

It is. Since I have an aquarium I just use my dip test strips for my plants as well. It reads every .2 so its fairly accurate.

there are hormones called auxins in a plant, these cause which ever cola is closest to the light be larger basically. Its not because the light is more concentrated its where the plant basically mainlines most of its concentration because its closest. There are "LST" manuals that can explain this in more detail. Also bud density has to do with the amount of lumens yes, but more importantly the spectrum of light provided and the amount of UVB rays. HPS lamps offer the best flowering spectrum and highest amount of UVB light. But thats just the light factor, nutrients, temperature and humidity, ventilation, strain ect ect all play a part in bud density.
