Floros work great from flower to bud.The bud is smaller and lighter(popcorn) but the potency right up there will the 1000 watt.
The best thing I liked was the plant would grow right into the light with getting burned.

is bud density directly correlated to light intensity? I mean I am sure there are genetic factors but can light influence density more than genetics?

I don't know about more than genetics but defiantly a big factor.
On a 3 ft. plant the buds at the top, noticeably had more weight than the buds at the bottom.

Oh yeah for sure... I think it is probably close to 50/50... I have been putting my plant outside almost every day in the last 2 weeks and the buds have become soo dense at the top of each branch that the stem is starting to bend just below the colas, even though the buds are only a little bigger than a bic lighter, and a little fatter. I blame strain and light source. They did seem to be lagging slightly under my 175W MH and now have become so dense I'm dying to try them because I desire dense bud more than anything... I just love it. One bowl and your done, as long as it's even decently potent.

is that litmus paper? I bet that would be easier than using those drops they sell at the hydro store.

It is. Since I have an aquarium I just use my dip test strips for my plants as well. It reads every .2 so its fairly accurate.

there are hormones called auxins in a plant, these cause which ever cola is closest to the light be larger basically. Its not because the light is more concentrated its where the plant basically mainlines most of its concentration because its closest. There are "LST" manuals that can explain this in more detail. Also bud density has to do with the amount of lumens yes, but more importantly the spectrum of light provided and the amount of UVB rays. HPS lamps offer the best flowering spectrum and highest amount of UVB light. But thats just the light factor, nutrients, temperature and humidity, ventilation, strain ect ect all play a part in bud density.
