yeah used to get into it a little with some buddies, its kinda fun to climb to the roof of some building and smoke a bowl on top.  if anyone is in nor-cal the holy grail of uex is some abandoned naval hospital in or around oakland.

naval hospital?  are you familiar with the bay area?  THere is an underground creek that runs from lake temescal in Oakland to Bay Street in Emeryville.  I love smoking in that place.  Is the hospital in alameda?

not really, i just remember reading on some uex forum that the place was the shit for uex. had always planned a trip out there but never got around to it and now im in israel.  our urban exploring is a little different in that what we explore are centuries old ruins.

I used to be a member of an urban exploration website.  When I lived in phoenix that's how I spent a portion of every weekend.  I would ride my bicycle all over that city.  It was hot as fuck but I saw some cool things and listened to some great music while i was doing it.

was built in 1897. Closed 1994
Opened in 1903 Demolished / Renovated:  I read some one say it's in the cards to put some like 400 homes in it's place some time near future..
112 years old- WOWZ Abandonment for 15 years

Alternate Names: East Sussex County Asylum

A lot of people that took time to write about it only had amazing things to say about the years they spent working in that place.. and what a loss it was to see it now, some were pretty concerned about some artifacts held in a museum part..? This place should have been made into a museum.

"The hospital had it's own 500v electric railway to bring coal for the boiler house and passengers from Hellingly station. The track ran up the right hand side of the main drive into the hospital. The last train ran in 1959":wowz:!

Here is one link I was looking at with tons of pictures and more info for any one into it.

http://www.derelicte.co.uk/hellingly-hospital

edit-- Any place made into an inane asylum should be allowed to break down with time. let the memories die.

Ya know what, we can say what we want.. but I don't actually think people actually acted(nor act) with as much patience  and  kindness along with understanding and probably a loooong lack of self control to be with some patients. I am sure some of them innocent patients were raped- beaten- violated of some sort, but not that I want to be right but im not fucking stupid..
