Hey Audz. Really wanna see some new photos of those odd little beauts. Did you stick with the cfl's you described in your first few posts. Had a read through the whole log but thought I might have missed something.

I am. Looking good. I feel your pain about company causing problems. Thats my only constant problem, as i have people over all the time that dont know what I'm doing under the stairs. Hopefully all is well, and the one is just trying to give you a scare. Time will always tell though.

Didn't manage to snap any pictures before the lights went off this morning, but the damaged plant is starting to look like a hermi. One of it's newer branches is showing a few little pistil looking things while the other branches are starting to look like they have balls. Still too early to tell sex for sure, but the plant looks so bad from the tub damage that even if it does end up female, the yield would be pretty low. I'd like to make some seeds seeing as how I used up my whole stock already, but I'm not sure if using pollen from a possibly hermi'd male would be wise. Would I be better off reveg'ing after harvest and then cloning or running a seed crop?
At any rate, good to know this has a following, I was starting to wonder if this was turning into a personal diary; not that's necessarily a bad thing. Makes me more inclined to update, anyway.
Integra: Thanks! It sucked too as it was my parents stopping by for my 21st birthday. What am I going to say, "No, don't come visit me?" Didn't really matter as they didn't even end up in the same room as the grow area, but better safe than sorry, I suppose. I just hope my grow turns out half as nice as yours!
Buddy: Not sure exactly what you mean. I've changed my lighting setup since the rubbermaid tub, if that's what you're asking. I'm using ~6 cool white 23w CFLs with ~2 13w daylight CFLs. That's all aproximate as I switch them out depending on temperature and for equal light distribution.
Inverted: For sure! Pistils are starting to come flying out of the girl like crazy, it's so nice to watch
Helmet & Ojom: Thanks for the comments, I'll try and keep you all updated!

No, thought you might have changed to a HPS or something for flowering. I hear CFL's give dissapointing results if used during the flowering period, they did for me in May anyway. Was happy to get anything from my first grow, but ended up with like half an ounce. From 6 months growing!

I've heard mixed reviews on CFL'S. Next time your in Barnes and Noble you should take a look at
"Marijuana BUDS for LESS" Grow 8 oz. of bud for less then $100 By SeeMoreBuds.
I've been following that guide and have done good so far... although I'm only on Day 11 of 75.
Anyway I have 3 42watt CFL'S that are kept 2-3 inches at all times, which reduces stretching. The Light Cycle now is 24/0 around day 16 or when there are 4 fully developed leaves I'll switch the cycle to 12/12.
This grow is pretty close to those parameters.. Hope to see your results.

I wonder if the $100 includes the price of the book.

They grow up so fast
You seem to be getting good results from CFLs. Suppose the different spectrum bulbs helps? I'm looking into getting some sort of HPS on ebay if I can find one cheaply. Provided Stinky survive's the field.
Lookin very good.
PS. They lost that discolouration from earlier too. I thought they looked kind of cool, prob healthier now though.

They grow up surprisingly fast! I've been pretty impressed with CFLs so far; I mean, it's not going to produce the same results as a HID lamp, but for a $50 investment from Lowes, they're kicking ass!

Agreed, I'd be using them If I didn't stumble upon a free MH... :/

Wouldn't a 100W metal Halide be unsuitable for Flowering? I mean it's got predominantly blue spectrum light. Your Flourescents would provide better spectrum. And 100W HID would only provide around 4000 lumen. Coupled with the wrong spectrum...

Yes that is for vegging, but they also sell the same light as an hps version that is actually a 150w that you can use for flowering. Which is definitely better than a cfl(s)

Agreed, I think the 150W HPS would be a good investment for a small enough grow, looking into trying to get one second hand myself at the mo.Dammit I wish I lived in the states. Anywhere selling hydroponics or lights for growing here are a complete rip off. I wish they'd open a few wall marts over here. We've got starbucks.

Absolutely, I've been looking into a 150w HPS security light or something they sell at many the ranch stores. I was worried about heat, which is one reason I chose CFLs, but at this wattage, the CFL heat is probably more than a low wattage HID. For vegging though, my setup right now is pretty much where I want it.
I've been using the crazy desert temperature fluctuations to my advantage, however. In the day it's been about 90 for the last week but at night it drops down to a nice 40ish. My light schedule is set for off at 8am, on at 8pm. In a week or three when the plants have forgotten about their previous light cycle irregularities, I'm going to move it up an or hour so to 9ish as 8am is usually before I'm out of bed, leaving me only an hour or so each day where I can actually go see it.

I have bought a 100w MH for veg and then thrown in the equiv of 100w HPS in red spectrum cfls for flowering combo and could not notice the difference.

Hmm, thinking they both went hermi on me. Noticed the continuously mangled one shot pistils out of the tops of the shoots and they're some ballish looking things below. Going to wait until they're a tiny bit bigger to make sure they're not calyx's with no pistils yet. The other plant has a few balls on the side closest to the vent holes, so I think I might have a light leak or the stress is catching up to them. Plucked all the balls off and hoping they stay away. At any rate, when they wake up tonight, I'll take some pictures and try and REALLY light proof the vents.
