Lookin' good man... You are seriously doing very well for how much exp. you have... I never had a "real" grow until about the 3rd year. I was never a fan of those peat pellets as they dry out in about 18 hrs. but if you can be there for your babies whenever they need it then they are probably a good choice.
I use 12 Oz. plastic cups for every seedling I start. I grow them in those cups for 2 weeks then transplant to 1 gallon. I continue in them for another 2 weeks then I move to a 4 or 5 gallon pot. I truly feel it is beneficial for a plant to use the "step-up" method of transplanting. If you let them get a little rootbound in a small pot, they are really utitilizing all the space they can, and then you give them a little more space and they dominate that space as well, when you finally give them a large area to consume they really take off as the roots are concentrated in all areas of the soil and have a huge root mass to support the rapid growth that is taking place above the soil!! Sorry I'm drunk and rambling but trying to help you out to understand all of this in a short period of time! Ya get it?

Ha yea boss I get it, and yea these little bastard pellets dry out fast cuz they are so small. But since I have no job it is really easy to watch over them. I'm thinkin of moving some of them outside if it would be benificial to them but I have never done that either.....any tips?

Lookin' good man, its all good with your stretced babies. I'm sure you already know to bury the stems up the the 1st node when you transplant next. No biggie...

Update I moved them to some cups because a few of them started poking roots out of the pellets. These "girls" seem to be fast growing.

If your looking for a cheap light, home depot is the way to go. They have a 100w metal halide or a 150 hps light for outdoor use that you just have to add a grounded plug to and its good to go. Or if your crazy(like me) you can disassemble the light and use some epoxy and chain from the local hardware store and make a makeshift light with the refector in the light and make a remote balast out of the housing. But it is fine as it sits, I was just moving some heat out of the room. I have the MH, but the hps is identical. Also, i picked up my 400w Lumatek Switchable Digital balast with a sunleaves air cooled reflector, and 400w MH&HPS bulbs for $260 with shipping off of ebay and they are working great. A little pricier, but well worth it and still a great deal.

yeah me too! but most of the time i use thin basket coco pots, the then just transplant the entire pot and everything to a bigger pot and the roots will grow right through the first pot into the second, with no stress from tranplanting...

You're trying hard to spread good information I understand this but if you have paid attention Trip has said multiple times that he is broke, just like me and cannot afford to be purchasing any new equipment...
I used to always start my seedlings like that when I had the space and actually took pictures just like that looking down the tubes... Nice

I know he's broke. I only tried to list cheap lighting ideas in the hope that he might be able to come up with a small amount of cash to get one of those lights. I to was broke, untill I stopped smoking cigarettes, and then used that normally wasted money for the good of the grow. You never know what someones full situation is, and less face it, it doesnt take a miracle to come up with $70. That kind of cash can be made helping a buddy move or doing some side work for relatives.

True True... I was just basing this info off that fact that he told me he doesn't have cash nor will in the near future but I agree he should go looking for any way to get a little bit of money. I even suggested begging.
