picture upload problem

why is it telling me this when i try to upload a pic?

There were problems with your upload:
Untitled-1.psd was not of the allowed file type (application/octet-stream) and was not saved.

and why are all my nude pics i uploaded so i could post in the jailbait thread, red X's in my pics, but still up on the thread?

.psd is most likely not a valid file extension. You'd be better off saving the file in jpg or gif format.

how do i do that? these are pictures i saved and then altered on my adobe photoshop...

thanks for the quick reply bro.

heres the thing, i open them thru adobe photo shop, and then when i click save as, it doesnt give me an option to make it anything other than .psd :shrug:

idk mac or pc.

its saved into my pictures folder(windows xp)but when i click it, it opens adobe, bcuz of the modifications i made to them...

i tried the export, and tried to rename it to a .jpg, and a .img, but when i went to my folder and tried to open the new file, there was "No Preview Available"

MODS, can you sticky a "computer help thread" somewhere around here, i know i alone have enough computer queries to keep it used and tasteful

You shouldn't be renaming it to a jpg. When you hit save as, there should be a box where you type in the file name. Below that, there should be a box that lets you choose the format. Psd is the default, but I never use it because the internet prefers jpg/gif/etc.

That's odd. I dunno, maybe try reinstalling photoshop? You should definitely be able to save in other formats. Or select & copy the image, and paste it into another image editting program that lets you make jpgs.

i haven't used photoshop in a long time but what i told you should work. when you click save as a dialog box opens that asks you for the file name and filetype, right?
do you see something like this?


just click on the filetype box and you should see all the options. at least that's how i think it should be.

maggotz and sativus, yes, thats similar to what i see, and in the second bar, theres a dropdown arrow, but it only offers Photoshop*(.PSD, .PDD)

i have the original picture im gonna try it w/out cutting it and see what i can get, cuz the original pic is uploadable here...

photoshop5 maybe, idk, but its not the photoshop, i upload a million pics off of it to here and shroomery.

whats wierd tho, is that these pics are the only ones that when i click on them in "my picture" folder, they open with adobe...all the other ones ive made, or modified open with my windows xp default "picture viewer"

get what im sayin? sorry i dont know any of the proper lingo...

i think it has somethin to do with one of the steps i did to the pictures, but i cant figure out why or what...

the only thing out of the ordinary that i did was used the marquee tool to cut out the section of the original picture, and move that cut out to a new page...

anyone know a better way to cut just a piece of a picture out?
