Might as well keep a log here. This all of course "fiction", and all the pictures, were pics that i found on the internet, because of course, I don't grow marijuana.
This is the germination of cycle #1: Local indies. As you can see, the light is a simple 65w white bulb@ 18". )Of the 25 beans germing. 10 are inside peat pods@ 1cm and the rest are germing in paper towels.
Cycle #1 Started on: 5-17-1909;) Total seeds: 23(some iffy)...UPDATE...not iffy any more, they're fukkrd Type: Local Indy Light: 65watt (white)incandescent)
5/18___The germy's "toweling it" are under the 6" paper plates, the rest are germing in the pods. I have the towels in a zippybag and there is a layer of plastic rap(Loose) over the pods to keep the moisture.
5/19__A couple of beans in the pods are already uncurling their seed leaves, I can see three more opening as well. I think there are some sprouts in the zippy(silhouetted against light). I will transfer them to pods\cups soon, maybe tomorrow\day after...
5-21-1909_ The paper towel sprouts boomed like crazy! I got every one of them into some peat pods. the most sprouted ones are moving to the cfl lamps tonight. Should only take a few minutes to set that up.
5-22-1909_I just put my two four fictional, fastest growing indies under the (2) cfl's, one lamp for each two in 06" pots, with a 2/3-1/3 mix, using MG P. Soil, and MG Sphagnum Peat. The rest are going to 6" pots(same mix), then out to the "free range" preserve tomorrow, at latest Tuesday. I'm not going to add any nutes to the wild bunch, except that I'm mixing in 2/3 MG potting soil and 1/3 MG sphag./peat mix(10/5/10)to the local north east soil when they go out. The sprouts are DYIN' for REAL lumens! I put a small 4" wally-world fan onto the peat pods to strengthen them up before they get moved, also to move the 65w house bulb closer@ 6" and drop the temp/range. I'm going to keep the other two "good grow" indies under the cfl's until the hindu's comes in. If Customs fictionally "gets" them during shipment, than I will do a full indoor cycle for the over achievers, maybe bloom them early.
_5-23-1909____I have transferred six to the pots, and moved a fan plus the slower pods to the CFL's.
...on a side note, I picked up my supplies for some pf tek "B+" cakes. I still need to stop by the shop for some vermiculite, definitely some more perlite, I figure I have about 1gl of the perlite so far. The B+ should be here in about 12 days or so. I picked up a 12pk of 1/2p taper jars, 1gl of perlite, 5gl fish tank, and 1 bag of B. rice to grind. Just need 40cc of B+, 1 bag vermy, some plexi for the mist/blast shield, and some shroomy good luck for those! At the lab at work I can take care of sterilizing my subs, so I'm good there. Hopefully, sooner than later, you can get some log details at shroomery.
Coming soon, I hope...My next cycle will be using some Hindu Kush. I will be using (2) CFL 65W-6500K lights for sprout/veg,if there is still morning frost here.
The next fictional plan is...
Cycle #2: Est. date: 5-29-1909(Whenever the fuck they get here, hypothetically speaking.) Total Seeds: 10...5 Type: Hindu Kush,(Highgrade-seeds) Veg. Light: 2xCFL @65w 6500K Distance: 2-3" Flower Light:...(indoor or outdoor?)
...is currently postponed due to inclimate weather.
On a positive note. The Four indoor babies will be transfered to a larger pot(1 or 5gl) with perlite added to the 50/30/20.
Nah, not yet. Just a regular lamp bulb. 65w white. @18 inches. I'm moving some tonight to some flower pots, and veg under the CFL's. Mostly I'm just sprouting them with the 65w reg because it maintains the heat/temp. w/no fan. You can see that the stems are stretching like crazy dyin' for some real light, so their getting moved.
You should just stop using the 65w Incandescent bulb altogether, they are plain awful for growing. Also 80% of the power put to an incandescent bulb is emitted as heat instead of light. Just get another CFL instead. Also, you can get fluorescent lighting very close to plants since they give off very low heat.
I have all of the sprouts under (2x)6500k cfl's now,@ 24hr. I moved the lamp up a few inches to get a clear pik of them. There are 6 in pots, and the rest are still in pods. They are getting dopped into there own pots tomorrow. Some more are going outside, too. 3 were moved outside today. I am keeping them in 6" pots until they are better rooted/sturdy.
5-26 Well I have 15 that sprouted good and moved 11 to the outdoors, and four of the more robust went to a veg chamber for a few more weeks. Of the ones outside, 5 remain in pots-3 in pots/went out@ 5-23, and the other 6 are mixed in 50/50 with the area soil, spread over the creek valley with 10am-8:45pm direct light. Pix soon.
Outdoors: Of qty: 11, 4 are K.I.A. Due to slugs and cold. Many of the sprouts are getting blasted with cold shock. The weather has been un-relenting on the cold-night spells.(40F) Two of the OutD's are thriving better than others, due to terrain/soil. The isolated 2 will start recieving some nutes (FF-Grow Big)within a couple of days. The others are not too hopefull of a safe growth period as of now. We'll see how they do. If they make it to a proper veg, I might give them some boosters. The stress on these are drastic, but still early in plant formation.
Poor Bastard!
Indoors: My pride. These four are doing much better than their free-range cousins. They are growing steady, color/leaf surface on some is questionable. Otherwise, they are doing well. The plants known as, R1 and Jando are REALLY STARTING TO SMELL! Similar to good old Skunk #1. The plants have been given 1 serving of FF nutes@ 1tspn/gal. Still observing reaction though. Two of the larger plants have leaf surface issues. The surface is not brittle, but looks like dried mud wrinkles, one has a softish spot, no color change. Both plants though, are observed for yellowing of the Lower leaves. They are not dominate colors(yellowing). Seems like it is lightening between the leaf's veins on the lower 1st and 2nd leaf sets.
REGIMINE: Light Cycle: 24 hours Light Source: CFL's x 2 @65W/6500K Nutes: Fox Farm "Grow Big" as of Day-15. * 1 tspn per gal * Every other watering (4 days) * ph is: @ 6.5 * Temp. is 78-81F Here's the FICTIONAL indoor babies @ 16 Days:
*** SIDE NOTE ***
REST IN PEACE JNF. I miss you already my friend. See you at the Great Yankees Game in the Sky!
Day 20 On day 20 I moved the kids outdoors for some proper lumen. While I installed another CFL in their den. They LOVED it!. Jando and R1 both blew up like crazy. Mickey and R2D2 did great as well.
Day 21 The kids are doing great! They jumped up 1.5" overnight. I'm feeding them Grow Big and Big Bloom. I will start changing the light cycle to closer to the outdoor cycle. The weather is starting to pick up.
Day 23 I moved my first indoor kid outside today! She is the biggest out of the litter and just doesn't really have room! I put R1 near the other plants that have been doing well, and I hope that she holds up all right. The evening temp is still going down to the mid-50's and it might stunt her growth, but I think she'll do ok
Here she is, in her new home! Her picture was in my last post.
The roots were wrapped around the inside of the pot! It looked like it was nothing but root! I'm going to see how she handles the weather, and move the rest outside soon, minus one.
What do you mean? They are in six" 1/2gal pots, being fed lightly, every other day. The water ratio is at about 8-12oz.(dry/damp depending) of 2 tspn/gallon, and 6tspn(2TBS)per gallon.
These puppies are growing nice and stout. The one in the center is Jando. She is the stinkiest fukker yet! The one on the left, R2D2, is right behind her in smell. The one on the right is Mickey, she smells just like a weed. Maybe she'll stay in for a while.
So ALL of the plants have been moved permanently back to mother nature. i had to string up some fishing line around them because I noticed deer tracks coming withiin 6" of the 3 that were already out. HAHAHA i also noticed that there are some deer bedding within 5' of them! Time to get some coyote piss!
