Ok so im wondering, what makes different strains have different effects. Like indica and sativa? How some will make you more tired or more of a body high ect. They all contain THC. Someone explain this for me.

But THC is just one of many cannabinoids. All of them play a part in the effects of the high.

There's a company that sells prescription THC (synthetic) called Marinol. It's not quite the same as a true marijuana high. The main reason being that lack of all the other cannabinoids that marijuana contains.

I'm inclined to believe it's not so much the strain as it is the growing method, the chemicals involved in the grow, and the amount of time and energy put into the plants. I've heard all kinds of different theories on how to get purple plants and more potency and honestly despite all the hype I think it really is about the grow more than the strain. Although I'm not discrediting good genetics, I just think it's overrated.

Genetics definitely play a part in the taste and look of the finished product though.

dude. once you really experience the different highs different strains can produce, you'll never say this again!
to me, now, it's like night and day. i used to think all bud was pretty much the same. WRAING!
some buds make you want to sleep. some are very energetic. that is the most basic of the basic. then the experience gets much more complicated...

Yup. I don't care who grew the weed or how, there are strains that'll always hit me like a bag of bricks and send me sluggishly scrambling for espresso to stay awake. And there are some strains that will virtually always pick me up when I'm tired.
Nutrients and growing conditions can certainly play a role in bringing out the best of some genetics, but the genetics play a lot larger role in determining the high.

See, that term pedo gets thrown around a lot.
Is a 16 year old guy having sex w/a 16 year old girl a pedophile?
If not, then how is a 30 year old considered a pedophile for doing the same thing?
I think y'all need to look up the definition for pedophile.

i'm sure i did. the place i get my stuff from consistently has the best of any strain i've ever had. and that would include the jack herer. it was good weed, but i just wasn't that impressed. its more bark than bite.
