“You see this glass bong?” asks Achaan Chaa, the Thai meditation master. “For me this glass is already broken. I enjoy it; I smoke out of it. It holds my water admirably, sometimes even reflecting the sun in beautiful patterns. If I should tap it, it has a lovely ring to it. But when I put this glass bong on the shelf and the wind knocks it over or my elbow brushes it off the table and it falls to the ground and shatters, I say, ‘Of course.’ When I understand that the glass is already broken, every moment with it is precious.”[/quote]

Let Paw tell you a sad sad story....
Back in summer of `71 i had the choice to see Floyd "Meddle Tour" at the Music Hall in downtown Houston or go see Lou Reed "Heroine Tour" at Hofheinze Pavillion on the UH Campus.
I went and saw Lou Reed wrap a fuckass mic cord around his arm and act like a fucking junkie instead of watching Gilmour slay the fuck out of his slide guitar. I seriously had my priorities fucked up back then
Did someone say something about Fearless?

I can see why you made that choice and I can totally relate to how you feel about it now.

The breakup between Gilmour and Waters could not have been avoided. It was bound to happen because Gilmour was so much more talented when it came to playing guitar or any other instrument for that matter. To make matters worse Gilmours voice was 10 times better than Rogers.
Roger was and still is a fantastic writer/musician in his own right but his ego would not let him share the success with the rest of the band.
The thing that pissed me off the most about Waters was he wanted to end Floyd all together The court battle over Floyd ended with Gilmours lawyers paying Waters a shitload of money to just shut him up and go away.
Ive often sat and thought about all the music that we were cheated out of because of Waters ego ignorance.

yeah waters did piss me off but i still love him.....anyway a momentary lapse of reason and the division bell turned out good without him! it was missing a little weirdness that Roger added to the other albums but they are still great!

My love for Waters has returned bigtime since he returned to the stage for the Live 8 concert. Big kudos to Bob Geldof for making this happen
Waters lyrics were/are pure genius
Daddy's flown across the ocean Leaving just a memory Snapshot in the family album Daddy what else did you leave for me? Daddy, what'd'ja leave behind for me?!? All in all it was just a brick in the wall. All in all it was all just bricks in the wall.
"You! Yes, you! Stand still laddy!"
Connie is gone to Florida for a week so i have plenty of time to continue to discuss this thread further with you Doc
Most people do not know that that the majority part of the Animals lyrics were written by Dave Roger insisted that he was credited with Dave`s on the album It is all in Masons book.

yeah man i heard masons book is awsome, i have yet to read it and would love to........waters lyrics are fantastic (pure genius) and david also showed that also too with the later albums when roger left! david even exclaimed on an interview i seen (which ones pink!) that 95 percent of dogs was credited to him, and dogs is a masterpiece in itelf... they all have something awsome that contributed to the "Pink Floyd sound".......they are the perfect mix!
