decision time

Ok, I have been in deep thought the last few days. It's about my pot smoking 'habit' (addiction, whatever you want to call it). After about a year and four months, I realize that I need to finally stop doing it every night and make it a sat night thing like it used to be for me. Why? I used to enjoy it on sat nights, doing it every night has led me in a direction where I don't seem to enjoy it nowhere near as much as I used to. I also noticed that I get nowhere near as high as I used too. I used too smoke sat nights in my friends driveway with my 3 foot bong in the truck. I used to get wreaked, and be a minute from my house, go home, play video games and guitar all night.
About a year and a half ago (year and 4 months i think) It became every day and I quickly started to not enjoy it as much. 3 of us threw in for an 1/4 (80) a week which held us over. Then one back out, and it was just 2 and then my friend backed out and now its just me. Money wise, its bullshit. But anyway, And now, I think, If I could just get past the sleeping part of it, I'd quit daily usage in a minute. I've been pondering over this for sometime. I know there is a day when my dealer, which has been good everytime but once in a year and a half will stop selling. And connections will mostly go and disappear forever.
I know the mental 'withdrawal' side effects. I had to quit a while back for two weeks when I had bronchitis. But, I was talking to my friend, she smoked daily for 7 years. She told me Tylenol PM for the first 4-5 nights and you shouldn't have a problem. I looked around the net at what I will expect to see happen in my emotions and personality for the first few weeks. I'm on the serious virg of quitting daily usage, and if I do it and it is hell, it will make me never do it daily again. BUT, I still want to on fri sat nights lol.
So, questions: 1. Is that part about Tylenol PM just a load of bullshit? 2. How long till I restart a natural sleep pattern again? I used to sleep like a baby. 3. I give it 2-3 weeks, once I got my natural sleep back, would that be a good time frame before I go back to weekends only?

alright, why is there so much hype on this matter?? pot is awesome we all know this. it releases out of your body slowerly meaning practically no withdraws(im not talkin about the guy who smokws 2-6 grams a day but a good daily average of 0.5 to 1.0 grams a day u shouldnt have withdraws. period. if u smoke every night before bed the first few nights well be difficult fallin asleep. just like its hard for somepeople to fall asleep without their significabt other by theem. tylnol pm will help u fall asleep and establish a sleep cycle, but its not necessary. just stop smokin, i have several times. no big deal, unless you smoke massive amounts all day everyday, but even then its nothing like even bad withdraws sympotoms off caffeine.

That is not why you don't get withdrawals. The psychoactive effects of cannabis last maybe 6 hours at most, after that you stop feeling high. It's true that cannabinoids and THC are stored in fat and leave the body after weeks. You get withdrawals and cravings when you stop being high. A meth addict for example. Meth lasts in your system 2-4 days. Do you think once a meth head runs out of speed and come down from their high they are like "Oh I'm good for a couple days, I feel great!" No, they withdrawal and go right back to using.
The withdrawal symptoms of Marijuana are pretty much negligible and non existant.

Meth doesnt have a withdrawals i know for being a past user.
its pretty much like weed, all about mental strength. You will not have muscular spams or stomach twitch from doing those drugs but inavetably your brain will be craving for them .

Comparing the addictive qualities of Meth and Marijuana is apples and oranges. Meth is not necissarily physically addictive, however it most certainly has withdrawal symptoms and a hard come down.
Here's a bit from Erowid.
Withdrawal symptoms can occur when use of amphetamines is stopped abruptly. Users may experience fatigue; long, disturbed periods of sleep; irritability; intense hunger, and moderate to severe depression. The length and severity of the depression is related to how much and how often amphetamines were used. Other Methamphetamine withdrawal symptoms: craving exhaustion depression mental confusion restlessness and insomnia deep or disturbed sleep lasting up to 48 hours extreme hunger psychotic reaction anxiety reactions
It's unlikely anyone would experience the symptoms above from stopping Marijuana usage.

Oh i totally agree but as i was saying., All symptom are cerebral craving and disruption, nothing like heroin or downers which will cause major muscular pain and such.
Weed can be very hard to stop just like cigarette, take a lots of spirits and hard headed person.
good luck man if your going to stop.
Personally i dont think you are stopping for the right reason. because you will eventually go back smoking weed as you want the effect to be stronger. Perhaps you should smoke weed for meditation purpose instead of recreational purpose.
Anyway . good luck with this. me im 100% for smoking weed so im out of this thread !
