i have a 400W closet idea that i have not yet actualized because i need to get some airflow.
can fan has 2 models of the 6 inch size.
on high output 219 cfm
normal output 156 cfm
with this filter

my volume of space will be about 65 square feet!
help me out man !!!
im hoping you will tell me i need the low output so i can haz sleep!

Personally I would get the HO and get a speed controller. The bigger your fan is, the better, you can always quiet them down with a couple precautions. As far as absolute necessity, you could probably get by with the NO (I use a 170cfm in my 400w closet) but it would need to run at full speed all the time which may be louder that the HO when dialed back. It is really a financial question though, can you afford the better fan and controller?

well on this here site it says taht the HO has 12 sones of sound and the NO has 6. im thinking that i should go for the low output. and if it gets hot ill get some african strains haha.

I don't ever listen to what the manufacturer rates the noise level of any fan. There is no set test so they can finagle it however they please as to sell more. Heat always scares me with indoor grows, it is way to easy to fry the babies but it is your call.
I am loving your new plants. I was just about to comment in your journal. I like the new camera too, seems like you're putting it to good use.

yeah they are my first too!
when they get a little bigger im gonna do a phenotype photoshoot.
well i guess i will ask around.
other than can fan are there any other brands with great reputation for smooth and cool runnings?
yeah i will build muffling and a box around the fan if need be. i think i will go with the HO , or another brand of similar CFM.

As far as manufacturers to look at, elicent, fantek, and S&P all make amazing fans (S&P all plastic mixvent is my next fan btw). Vortex are great but very load, panasonic makes a pretty nice fan called the whisperline but I've heard they wear out very quickly. Any of the first three will be a great buy.

As long as it carries a carbon scrubber and will move enough air out fuck its always worked for everyone I know.
