 Removing battery from smoke alarm

Does removing the battery from a smoke alarm cause it to make noise?
I'm trying to turn it off so i can smoke the ganja!

Depending on what kind it is you may have to disconnect it from the wall

I smoke here sometimes, and I never set off the alarm. Just smoke by an open window

Twist it counter clockwise. If that reveals a plug then unplug it. Aside from that, remove any battery and smoke the fuck out.

When I bought my house this one kept going off when I turned the hallway light on. I went to replace it and discovered that it was hard wired. I ended up replacing all the smoke detectors in the house with some 9v one's from the home depot.
Dude, if you take the battery out, how is it going to make noise, unless it's also hard wired? If you cut the wires, make sure you tape the ends up with electric tape.

I ripped mine out of the wall and they came in there and said I had to replace it...Apparently they can monitor those things.
I mean but if its in your house some of them beep when the battery is going dead but if you take the battery out it just shuts the fuck up.

Most smoke detectors make no noise taking the battery out, but the majority of ones I've been around usually beep briefly after you put the batteries back in.

That was a bitch, I took the battery out, and it started chirping. So i had to cut the wires... i got a little shocked from the black wire. But now i'm free to blaze..

one time at a hotel party we removed the detector from the wall.
then it started blaring louder than hell and the hotel staff had to come up.
good thing that was b4 we started blazing.
they just told us to put a towel over it

Shit never seen one of those. I guess it has a backup battery or uses caps etc to power it for a few seconds...I don't know. I doubt mine work I never hear them go off...Ever not even for batteries.

dude u can blow ganj smoke str8 into a smoke detector and it wont go off. good job fucking up your security deposit
