I wanted to take a survey of smokers preference for clearing a bong filled with smoke.

So, What type of carb do you prefer on a bong, a pull-carb or a finger carb?

If you don't know already, a "pull carb" is a removable bowl-and-stem piece that you pull-out of the female downpipe in a bong, so air can enter the water then into chamber (for clearing a hit after filtering the smoke in water) faster than with the stem inserted. As for the "finger-carb", that is simply a hole located near the bottom of the tube chamber and you cover with a finger on to allow a vacuum during the smoke-thru-water filtration process and uncover to allow the chamber filled with smoke to quickly enter the user's lungs.

My preference is by FAR the finger-carb, since it clears the smoke so quickly and cleanly (there is no bubbling of air into the water like in the pull-carb, just a fast 'whoosh!' of air).

So, what's your preference?

Glass on Glass baby, pull carb only, I always spill water on myself with carb bongs. I recline when I smoke just to let you know.

I have to say, I am quite surprized that people here prefer pull-carbs over finger-carbs. I never would have guessed that in my hypothesis before starting this "survey" of TheGrowery.

I have to agree with TripityDooDaDay about the "fingering the bong", I LOVE doing that. Especially when its dripping wet from bong water leaking out its smooth-drilled hole. Feels SOOO good on my soft finger Tip (total boing!).

Hmmm. I think you may be getting carried away with that thought a bit. If you wanna make love to the thing then the pull is the better way to go. The finger hole is more for the quickie sort of bang. Learn how and when to love your bong and your bong will show it in return.

glass bongs with finger carbs suck fucking dick. you can never clear the whole hit because the smoke stays in the downstem. disgusting.

dont get the bong just cuz its cheap. spend a little extra and get one that actually hits well.
