China is one of the most oppressive countries in the world when it comes to drugs, I wouldn't even be on this site  .....much less fuck around w/ drugs there. They give the death penalty to smugglers all the time.

You can't get the death penalty for marijuana, but you can for hash. If you're caught smuggling 5kg or more into the country you get death.
Other drugs like coke and heroin have weights for smuggling and you get death, they're around 1kg.
Other than smuggling, though, there's no death penalty for drugs.
Drugs are easy to find if you know where to look. But not many local people know what drugs are, same goes for police, so there's little chance of getting caught. Po po here usually won't go after end users anyway.
In some parts of China pot grows freely as a weed and in others it is grown freely for smoking.
