I went straight for the quiz. Second question is, "What has more cancer-causing chemicals: marijuana smoke or cigarette smoke?" The answer is marijuana smoke. Their citation for this "fact."
*Hoffman D, Brunnemann KD, Gori GB, et al. On the carcinogenicity of marijuana smoke. In: VC Runeckles, ed, Recent Advances in Phytochemistry. New York. Plenum, 1975.
**Hashibe, Mia et al. "Epidemiologic Review of Marijuana Use and Cancer Risk." Alcohol, 35 (2005) 265-275.
From the 1975 study per erowid -
"Cannabis smoke is similar to tobacco smoke in that it is a mixture of very small particles and a gas-vapor phase. Both the particulate and vapor phases contain many identified and probably some still unidentified constituents that, based on clinical experience with tobacco smoke, must be assumed to be potentially harmful."
That study is fucking cited all over government websites. I'd be interested to read the text of that one sometime.
