i recently got some weed, it was really dry and crispy, harsh to smoke, i put some lettuce in the bag, it absorbed the moisture over night. now the weed seems much fresher. is this a good or bad thing to do?

I've heard of that working for people but I personally have never been a fan of putting anything in the bag with my weed. I'm sure others will have their preferred methods but this is mine from a previous thread.
Quote:
I did say boiling didn't I. My bad. Yes. High temps are bad. Use a tall stock pot with the strainer basket. You don't need to boil the water. Just get some steam coming up from a low level of water in the bottom. Shouldn't really be hot by the time it reaches the basket and doesn't take long at all to provide the needed wake up to bone dry weed. It takes the treatment pretty readily.
Usually you want to complete this quickly so boiling the water can be OK. Just turn the heat off and make sure the steam isn't too hot before placing the basket of weed on.

I don't know if it's good or bad. But it works when needed. I like orange peels and apple as well. The way I see it, it is better than smoking dry dope.
Welcome to the growery cuzz.

it's an ok thing to do.
just smoke the refreshd weed reasonably quickly.
mold is the only problem I can think of that could happen..
Personally I like my weed to be just a little bit less than bone dry. Find it hits better.

I've seen excessive moisture exposure to cause an off taste. That's the biggest problem I have with putting something in the bag. Lack of control. Lettuce would be better than a lot of things I've seen done though. Among the worst I've seen was a damp paper towel.
And yes. Welcome to teh Growery.

That's cool man. Most people here mored from the shroomery. I myself started here, then went there. Tho most of my time there is reading and learning. I tend to like this crowd more for some reason.

I spent a couple of years on the Shroomery thinking the place seemed more about weed than anything else in the social areas. I was hoping more of that would move over here than has so far. This place is still very though in comparison and experiencing some growing pains. It's shaping up though. Just need more to do as you said and perhaps more new posters from other weed forums to chip in as well.

I like having both the shroomery and the growery, it's kind of nice.
Little more quiet over here, but I like quiet.
Does "refreshing" the weed do anything to it's flavor?

it seems good in a blunt, but i would of rather had the crispy weed in a bowl. it burns too slow in a bowl.

Same here. I usually have both sites open in tabs I stick here mostly if there is enough going on but will hit the Shroomery up too.
Refreshing in the way I described has no effect on flavor. I doubt the lettuce does either. Apples do in my experience and I imagine some other things do as well.
For my own use though bone dry is just fine. when smoking a bowl solo I don't let it burn between hits usually. I'll hit it and immediately tamp it out until I'm ready for another.
I bake my blunts to dry them and for chemical conversion so it really doesn't matter there either.
