On Growing Dank

Okay, so my friend never buys dank, but almost always gets fair to dirty reg., which is confusing in and of itself, because in columbus ohio we have a pretty good market pretty much year round. But I digress. So he saves all his seeds, mostly fair or dirty reg., and he plants them in his backyard and leaves them alone, unless he's bushing them, or the occasional pruning of dead leaves, and he ALWAYS gets super sticky dank, way hairier, potent, and more colorful than anything he ever buys! But then he pots some, and puts them under 60w aquarium lights, and waters them regularly, and they all die.
My question is as follows: WTF?!
Your Bud, Potty

a lot of reasons contribute to the growing of the dank. the reason the bud turns out better when grown by himself probably has to do with the fact that it doesnt get harvested too soon and is handled properly. Also, it doesnt get packaged into tight bundles and shipped to far away location before it is dried.
your friend sounds pretty stoney. im sure if he did a little research, he'd be able to grow (especially indoors) a great crop. i would use cfls for growing indoors if i were on a budget. look up snufkins ssh and big bang cfl grow that was just finished for the proof. dont aquarium lights give off heat? any way, floros have a good spectrum of light, and give off little heat, so you can stick them 2 inches away from the canopy.

Plus with it in his backyard he would be able to take care of it better than up in the mountains with all those mexican farmers. Also he would be able to take all the males away and I am pretty sure that causes less stress on the plant IMO. About them dieing inside I think that we would need a little more info then that.

you know, its not all mexicans up in them hills
culling out the males doesnt put less stress on the females- what happens when a female gets pollinated, she focuses her energy toward seed production instead of other things, such as the production of thc

He said the lights were flourescents, but he also said they're supposed to be used for aquariums, so idk what to tell you on that subject, but ill go check those GL's out.

the reason your friends plants die when they go inside is they have insufficient lights to grow properly. The sun is the best lamp you can possibly use, so, this is why his outdoor ops work and his indoor attempts fail. Tell him to look into t-5, cfl, lighting if he wants to keep it cheap.
However, nothing beats an HID for indoor grows.
