 extraction question

ok so my buddie has like 3lbs of shwag and hes wanting to make oil out of it, ive heard of peopel doing it but never done it so i couldnt give him to much info on the topic, so i thought id ask on here, what is the best way to get the best oil, ive heard of soaking it in rubbing alcohol and heating it, is that a good way or is there a better way that dont cost a shit load of money

just finished with this tek and was very happy with the results. acetone can be a bit pricey though.

ISO hash sucks, use a better solvent. Acetone would be the easiest to get and is more economically feasible then hexane or butane if you're wanting to use 3 lbs of material.
Remember you should separate all the seeds and stems out of your schwag if you want the best quality hash you can get out of it.

pvc pipe 2 and 1/2 in or so in diameter, about 1 and a half ft long to 2 ft. 2 caps for the ends.
drill 1 hole in 1 end cap just big enough to get the butane to expell from the can. now drill a hole the same size about an inch away. this is to allow the pressure to not build up and let the gas drain through the weed.
now in the other end cap drill a whole bunch of small 1/16 holes. these are going to allow your gas and oils to drain.Also cut a few metal screen to put on the inside just to help keep the weed particles from getting into your oil.
Fill this tube now with your crushed up herbs about an inch from being full. tighten your caps and start pumping the butane in

and do this outside, also you're going to need a pyrex dish to capture the butane/oil as it comes out of the tube.

for sure, do this outside! Do not smoke around it until your sure all the gas has boiled off. And definatley you will need something glass to collect in. I have used anything from a glass plate to glass drinking cups, to big pyrex bowls. Just depends on how much your wanting to process.
