I was under the impression that asking to be a mod disqualled you from the running.
Also, can I get a ban on KP being able to ban me.
If not I expect that the end of this post might get me his first ban.
I understand that the moderation might have been a little lacking in TSL, Im just a little upset that you can just make a whiney post and poof 3 weeks later your a mod.
Geo, Im sure that you made an informed decision, I hope it works out.

I stand by Geo's decision.
tho, I wish he would have spoke with me about potential TSL moderators before making that decision
I think KP will do a good job, as long as he doesn't violate the privacy of fellow growerites or flame / hold a grudge on those that he had problems with in the past.

KP I really feel sorry that people have been doubting you, but you need to realize this is the time where you should be proving yourself as not only a good and fair moderator, but also as a genuine good guy.
You have been a constant whiner, and a coward. You have done things which seem to me a little irreparable, but you deserve a fair chance. And I do believe in giving everyone a fair chance.
I know you can be a good guy, so do us all a favour and live up to some good standards which go beyond the requirement of a mod.

That is perfectly reasonable and you may rest assured that I will be keeping a close eye on the situation and revising my approach as necessary. We have been over this time and time again on the Shroomery with pictures of famed user Jnny. Of course, I won't stand for the trolling or harassment of another user (so don't get any ideas).

I realize that we want to diversify our users and attract more, while trying to have the least amount of "cliquey-nature"...BUT hiring someone who is an active member of the Shroomery already with a large "following" and "friends" is just gonna give excuses for Shroomery "cliques" to jump ship over here.
Example: KP is a Pub regular, now he will attract the "Pubbers" to come over. This may be a good thing, but I believe it will just give a chance for more "cliques" to emerge.
Idk if others agree, or maybe I am just lonely and wish I had a "clique" of friends online.
(KP is just an example, I am not picking on him, )

I'm sure you will be on top of things. I've said my bit on this. Like I said, I don't personally have any issues with KP. Some do though and perhaps for valid reasons. I noticed a lot discontent in any case and nothing really being discussed in a constructive way. calling each other names back and forth doesn't get anything accomplished for the good of the forum.
I didn't like the way things were going at the beginning with this forum and didn't stick around. I came back later though and since have decided to give it full support. I throw in some posts where I can if achieving nothing more than being another active poster increasing at least some of the casual chatter that makes it a little less quiet as it grows. I don't have much else to offer as I'm not currently a grower and only have a little experience as a guerrilla grower. I do better keeping my mouth shut and learning in that respect. Riding on the back of the Shroomery, with the support and experience from it, the Growery has great future potential. That I'm sure of.

I sincerely doubt that will be the case. With the initial announcements, continued off-topic chatter and the proliferation of the Growery banner over at the Shroomery; anyone with a mind to make a home over here would already have done so. I find it hard to believe that just because a user [who has already been very active over here] happens to obtain a "M" flag by their name, that it would convince others to suddenly rush to the site.
Furthermore, the vast majority of members here are in fact from the Shroomery, not to mention the fact that the owners of either site are the exact same group of people. Now that isn't to say that the populations of either site won't evolve differently over time, I'm certain that they will; but to believe that the Growery can operate entirely independent of the Shroomery is a dream.

Forums are like high school, there are cliques. I was merely pointing out if you hire a mod who is a "head cheerleader" or "popular jock", the cliques emerge and ganging up tends to happen quicker. (And I am not suggesting that mod selection process is a popularity contest).
Just a thought on the social aspects of message board communities.
BUT I mean, mod's should always play fairly, and not employ favouritism or double standards in any way.

Banatelephone - What is your issue with people from the Shroomery? As geo has pointed out, the majority of people who post here are in fact members of the Shroomery.
