I posted this in Marijuana Pictures, but it might get more attention/comments in here. So here are some cool ass pictures I took last night of my nieces. Uncle moikey love them =)
There are 2 plants, one looks more indica than the other. Whatever, ill let you decide. The smaller one was started a little later than the bigger one, the bigger one is under a 400w HPS and the little guy has 2-150w CFL's. Organic soil with a hint of bone meal.
This is a nice specimen of the smaller plants cola's..Not sure what strain.

Heres the fat main cola of the bigger plant

He tried a new technique of trimming called bigbird or something where you trim the leave and leave just one leaflet still. Increased the light on the lower buds a LOT and it just blew up.
STRAIGHT WHITE
Any ideas of when they might be done? I'd say maybe 2-3 more weeks? We started flowering them around Thanksgiving.
The only proper way to harvest is to check the trichome color with a strong magnifying glass, a jewelers loop, or a pocket microscope (10$ at radioshack). Harvest when the trichomes are cloudy for a heady high or amber for a stony, body high.
some fine lookin plants there thanks for the pics.

It is a species of intemperance within itself, for it goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation, and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes. but i gotta reccomend never letting them go amber. dont you love it when your herb sparkles as opposed to a white/yellow dust all over it? and a stimulaing buzz rather than eat the house and crash? looks great! btw.

So if I had a 75/25 or whatever indica to sativa plant, and let the trichs get mostly cloudy would it just be a super heavy couchlock?
In simple terms
Transparent trichomes = immature
Cloudy = Max percentage of THC
Amber= More of the THC has oxidized to CBDs = more of a body high.
It's up to you what proportion you choose, but don't trust any other method for determining ripeness. All that, when the hairs turn brown, etc is not reliable.
