Wow man, great stuff! This is the first time I've checked your log, and it looks like things are going along well. Envious of your setup!
You're right about the indica, and I thought it was looking like some kind of afghani. Looking at the bag weed, I thought it looked like mexican sativa, but grown right and not treated like they treat schwag. Talk about hybrid vigor though. When do you go to flower? I'd recommend topping those babies, except for the smaller one or two I guess. Topping and then training the side branches might be a necessity unless you'll have six feet of height for them and sufficient side-lighting starting from the middle and on down. Those look like some pretty crazy sativa ladies that will love to overgrow.
Enjoy having a gallon of the pH-, it sucks to almost run out. It looked like you were having some micro-nutrient issues when they were smaller, probably due to the pH being lower, but it looks like you've been straightening that out. Feel free to adjust pH levels around to see how the plants respond, because even each phenotype can have a different optimum. Setting up your irrigation to be able to have individual reservoirs would be a fun idea if you want to really go mad scientist with it, especially if you'll be running different genetics at the same time...
Might have been more I wanted to comment on, but can't think of it right now. Looking forward to what is coming with your grow! Do you have plans for trying out known genetics?

Thanks guys! By known genetics do you mean a clone? Are there other ways to obtain known genetics? Like seeds? After this grow I am planning on getting a house and really getting into this stuff. I'd like to grow out some Master Kush first and get a mother plant from that then start work on cloning it and growing out maybe 8 plants at a time. I think I am going to fill the tray with hydroton this week so that the roots will actually grow out into it - through the baskets. Right now the roots all look like they are constricted when they hit the bottom of the tray. I have to leave town next Saturday and won't be back until 8 days later. I am very nervous about this. Nervous about my landlord entering while i am gone. I've got some ideas though. but they involve closing the closet door for 8 days. I've got an air purifier that I could put outside of the room and run a hose into the closet though. I will have to get a deionized or something for the smell too. Flowering will begin as soon as I get the HID system purchased and set up - guaranteed to be no sooner than January 1. So these ladies (hopefully) have another 2 weeks of veging at least. I will look into topping the plants off. I think they are going to outgrow this little tray that i am using. i was thinking about doing a scrog for them. One of the plants all ready has three main stems. In this picture you can only see two of them clearly...

Also, I am amazed at how fast and hearty these stalks grow. These things are very sturdy.

UPDATE TIME!!!
^See how glossy that last one is? I seem to be having some difficulty, i think. The leaves at the bottom of some of the plants are turning yellow and then falling off. it's only the very bottom leaves though.
I am about to leave again. This time I will be gone for about 8 days. I hope these beauties make it through unsupervised. I will have 2 fans going in the room 24/7 and a deionizer also going 24/7. I bought more hydroton and filled the entire tray with it. That was after i rinsed, soaked with h202, drained and partially dried them. I also moved the entire tray lower to the ground so that i could have more flexibility in the lights. I will not move them again until harvest. I'm going to be keeping the closet door closed the entire time I am away also. Let's all just have positive thoughts for the next week and hope we all stay safe from those evil injustices.

Good log, got me very interested in this type of hydro setup. Very clean set up with beautiful plants to reinforce the care taken during this grow. Keep us posted.

Things were fine indeed! Merry xmas everyone, even you atheists! lol. The plants are showing some signs of problems but generally they are looking GREAT. They grew another 4 or 5 inches in the eight days I was gone. I will show you all how i fashioned a lock for the door. I had two fans and a deionizer going 24/7 while i was gone. The door was shut the entire time so fresh air was minimal. I was really worried about my babies while i was gone. It's a HUGE relief that they are still looking good overall. The tray is just a forest now. It's time to get the HID and flower these bitches out.

I ordered the light today. I got a Yield Master II 6" Air-Cooled Reflector - Supreme, a 400 w Galaxy Digital Ballast and a HPS 400 w bulb.
http://www.botanical.com/hydro/lightsys/reflector/yield_master2.html
https://128.securededicated.com/growlight/400w-galaxy-digital-ballast-mh-hps.html?js=n
Next week will be flower time. When I do the rez change I will change the nutes and the light.

Yeah, they had one set up in the store and it was running cool and quiet - i had to have it. I am always surprised at how busy the hydro store is around here. There are always like 5 people in there when i go. I think it's great, supporting local business.

I'm using a 37 gallon rez that probably has 30 gallons of water in it. I have changed the rez each week. I don't know how many changes that is, but with a large rez it takes a lot of that stuff to get the job done. I just poured it in until the ppms were where i wanted them. I used just about the entire quart during veg. I will probably use the same on the bloom cycle. But to answer your question, i don't know. I have nothing to compare this expereince to. Im drifting in uncharted waters bro. lol. I do like its simplicity. Just pour it in, adjust the ph and your good to go for the week. i wanted a fert that was in a single solution so i dont have to mix a bunch of shit. im not too strapped for cash sso i could justify the expense of nearrly 30$. One thing I do not like is how nasty it makes your hoses, rez and tray. Each change I have to thoroughly clean it out and alcohol/salt scrub the hoses. Maybe that's overkill, but i like my shit clean god damnit! lol.

well man I would say that I would do that too... I just did that yesterday myself for my dwc. I think i need to get a submersible pump hardcore to make continual movement and spray the roots more. I think it was wise for you to do so. Your plants look great. I am suffering a K deficiency imho, its what i had decided.. its fits all the symptoms and i am treating it with fish mix, by GH. 6.6% K, and I figure i top feed onto the root ball it would be better and more direct.

HALFTIME
Well, I think we are just about to the halfway point of this grow. I think that the problem I am having is a problem of over fertilization. This morning I drained the rez and put in 25 gallons of filtered water (which was still 220 ppm's) and mixed it down to 5.9 ph. I just ran it through for about 20 minutes. I've learned a lot while doing all this. I am either going to be really happy in march or really upset. Two months ago today they were just seeds.
And now they are mini trees.
^Pic from last week.^
This is where the log starts to get interesting. I hope They are all females. We'll be finding out soon. Stay tuned........

How much did that light setup run ya?
I'm planning on stepping up to a HPS when I graduate this semester and move out west. CFLs are great for a first grow and trial/error, don't get me wrong. But I feel like I learned enough from my first grow that I could significantly increase yield with a 400w HPS.

Yeah, it sounds like a step in the right direction for the both of us. The total cost with tax and all was 330. I could have gotten it cheaper online, i found a couple places that had the ballast a few bucks cheaper but ehh. if it's worth doing its worth doing right. I want big, fat glistening buds.
