sort of first time with macro. Been doing really basic macro shots for a couple months now.
I use a digital camera. Canon powershot sd870 IS Digital Elph

I just picked up a nikon d60. I really want to get a macro lens and a telephoto zoom lens too. But i want the macro lens soon so i can take some killer pics of my first harvest in a couple weeks. i love me some great pics of great buds.

I'd switch it to manual mode and speed up your shutter speed. That should take away the fuzzyness on the outer edges giving you completely crisp picture.
Faster the shutter speed the more light you will need. You can take some really amazing pics with that camera if you can get it tuned right.

My Camera is digital. I can't adjust the shutter speed or manually focus the lens. My camera is as fine tuned as possible : (
It's the Cannon Power Shot SD870 IS BTW... Here's some more...

I just looked up the specs on your camera and it says you can change the shutter speed.
Find the ISO setting and make the number as small as possible. It will require more light but your pictures will have much more detail.
