first time grower, need some help please
    #171210 - 12/27/08 09:54 PM (15 years, 11 months ago)

I just got some clones from a dispensary about 2 weeks ago, ive got them under two florescent shop lights and one of the runts under a clip on shop light with a normal bulb.
The temp usually fluctuates from 80 during the day to 60 at night with 24 hour light.
some leaves on some plants are looking yellow and like they are dieing. could this be because of the transplant into a new pot? over watering ect?

any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks growery.

also, one healthy plant has a green stalk and, all the others have a purplish/brown color. is this a sign of problems with the plants?

Hum, those plants look a bit stunted but we need some more information.
What kind of soil are you using?
Have you fertilized at all?
What is the NPK ratio of the fertilizer?
Have you checked the Ph of your tap water or the runoff after watering?

Try to keep your temps to about 75o max if possible.
We'll get to the bottom of this.

They look under watered to me...You need to get a fert...Doesn't have to be anything fancy. I know someone who used a rose fert for their grow...

You check your Ph using a test kit from the hydro store or a digital Ph meter. Distilled water is unnecessary unless you have very hard water, tap is fine in 95% of cases. Does the super soil have any nutrients in it? I personally shy away from miracle grow products because I have had bad experiences with them, try to get a good fertilizer from a hydro shop if possible.

You'll burn those plants up with cheap ferts. If that's all you got then that's all you got, but be very careful when applying...You'd do that regardless, but special care is needed with these plants especially when dealing with ferts like miracle grow etc.

Where did you get those seeds??? I took another look and those plants are quite unhealthy...Not real sure from the looks as to what it is though. Check the PH.

If you can't afford a decent PH tester then you can get the strips from the store...They aren't quite as good, but to be honest they aren't too bad either. Definitely better than nothing, but you need to get a digi one day down the road.

Did they look like that when you got them or have they deteriorated since you brought them home?

theyve deteriorated alot since we got them. i took off the rockwool that was around the roots and put them back in the planting pots with more water and a small amount of fertalizer. how often should i be watering them ive herd several different things on watering them? and how often should i fertalize them?

Did you damage the roots when you removed the rockwool? Plants in this condition are very fragile, especially in the root zone.

Watering should be based on moisture content in the soil, not on a schedule. Get a feel for the weight of your pots when fully watered and what they feel like when they start to dry out, water when they feel light.

Fertilizer should only be given to healthy plants in most cases. Give your clones time to recover before adding harsh fertilizers. When plants are growing well fertilize every other time you water according to the label.
