how long are you supposed to bake your weed for and at what temp, this will have to be for future reference however because I got impatient and just stuck it in the oven at 200 for 15min.

drying your weedz in the oven is the dumbest thing you could ever do...well maybe not ever. but its not a smart thing to do. just let it cure naturally. smoking wet buds is better than smoking crispy buds. youre loosing nearly all your thc in the oven...

How about next time you give some details as to what you're doing with your "weed"
Are you baking it to eat?
Are you drying you're buds?
Wtf are you doing?
Most likely you're drying your bud. Take the advice a poster above gave, and dry it naturally.

I'm talking about the thread on shroomery about increasing the potency by baking it to turn the inactive alkaloids into THC, I couldn't find the thread though so I thought I'd ask here. I've done it succesfully before, besides the boiling point of THC is alot higher than 200.

you can try upping it to:
10 minutes at 300 F
7 minutes at 325 F

I do 7 minutes at 175 F, but I'm paranoid about overcooking since I'm usually starting with some sticky nugs.

Aw come on guys. I'm no connoisseur but even I know that THC is diminished by heat and light. If you are going to even trying this method out do it at a 150F for 10-15mins. Do not go over 200F or the THC will start to vaporize into the air as it is easily oxidised. Better yet dont do it at all. If your bud has already been dried and cured then smoke up.

We get this same argument about heat and potency loss at the Shroomery, but with shrooms.

yeah I've have no personal experience with this and will not state that it will/ will not work until I do. In theory it might work at lower temps with slightly negative effects like smoothness of the smoke and killing the taste. A reason why this may be is that the dryer bud is burning hotter for a longer period therefore converting more of the THC-acid into THC. Either way I like the smoothness and taste of my buds over trying to get the most high out of them. If I wanted that I would just extracted it all into hash or oil.

Maybe you're thinking of LSD? Compared to most organic compounds, THC is relatively stable to UV and other radiation.

 I think you need to doublecheck the boiling point of THC. Sure, you may get some low-boiling cannabinoid fractions vaporizing... but experience has shown that even if this is happening, the weed still comes out more potent for the process.

Have you tried this method? I get good bud. It's already properly cured and dried when I get it. And toasting it lightly makes it even more potent.
The idea is that heat turns inactive THC acid (THCA) into active THC. If you're vaporizing your herb, the process is kind of redundant since the vaporizer will accomplish this conversion. But when you're smoking a bowl/joint, the weed isn't necessarily exposed to the heat long enough for all the THCA to decarboxylate to THC, and the high temperatures involved may predispose a certain amount of the THCA to be pyrollized into other inactives.
What it seems like it comes down to is that no matter how well-cured bud is, there's still enough THCA kickin' around that toasting it makes it more potent.  Either that or there's some other heat-promoted reaction that converts less active cannabinoids to more active ones.
I know people like to bash this idea because it sounds like you'd be ruining bud. Skepticism is 100% fine (and even encouraged), but don't knock it til you've tried it. It works. It does degrade the flavor a little bit, but it also gives the bud a smell kind of like cannabutter.

Also, it doesn't look like it's been mentioned in this thread, so:
Important Note: Wrap your herb in tinfoil or something when toasting. It's best to try to contain any errant vapors.
