I know its hippy music or whatever, but it's nice at the end of a long day. I like the Creedence vibe. (Just listened to Willy and the Poorboys, queueing up Cosmo's Factory).
I know the Grateful Dead had a lot of dud shows in their time, but the good shows just have so much energy... it's hard to get tired of the GD because they changed so much over the years... when you're bored, skip forward or back 5 or 10 or 15 years (I'm enjoying a mid-80's kick currently... Brent Mydland FT!).
I never did care for GD. I've tried many times to find something I like, but to no avail. I guess I haven't taken enough dr00gz for me to appreciate them.
What type of music do you like normally? If you like jazz at all, one of their shows with Branford Marsalis might be up your alley.
I admit it took me a while to get into the Dead... when I first heard them, it wasn't exactly what I was expecting. But at the heart of their music is the quintessential American Experience (psychedelic and otherwise).
