i have many very small black bugs running around my plants. i didnt actually see any on my plants just running around the grow area. they are very small, black or dark brown and move pretty fast.
i am worried that these are aphids. should i be worried? or maybe they're not aphids anyone know?

are you outdoors or indoors? sometimes its easier to guess because some are more rampant on indoors than outdoors you see
Do they have wings? How big are they, fleck size (<1mm) or bigger (2-3mm)?
I have been seeing alot of fungus gnats around this season for some reason, maybe thats what they are. Fungus Gnats will tend to run away before they fly. They are very fast on land and have long legs. Their fly state is not a problem for plants but their larvae will eat delicate feeder roots if they run out of fungus in the soil.
they're fungus gnats. They look like fleas right? I had a mushroom casing get infested with them and i thought they were fleas, but when i saw one take up and fly away i knew what i had on my hands. A little diatemaceous earth on top of the soil will help kill off the fungus gnat infestation.
