yeah, Hotties galore at BG festivals.
you don't even have to play, just carry an instrument around and they come right up to talk to you....sweeeeeet

yeah, I've been playing long enough that Tab and sheet music doesn't really challenge me anymore, and being able to pick things up by ear is the cornerstone of a successful bluegrass musician....so I'm trying to get amazing at it so I can be all famous and whatever
The first group I posted is the Punch Brothers (formerly the How To Grow Band). This is where Chris Thile went after he left Nickel Creek.
The second song I posted is Tim O'Brien with whatever band he was with at the time.... he's a bluegrass Icon, and pretty much singlehandedly defined the genre into what it is today.

the cool thing about mandolin is that if you can play it, then you can automatically play violin as well

Not to mention the phenomenal difference between an instrument with frets vs. without, and the fact that it's on your shoulder rather than your lap. They are tuned the same, but that's pretty much where the similarities end
