Seedbanks...are they reliable?

I have heard many times over that people in countries where seeds are illegal are sending money to seedbanks only to receive a confiscation notice from their government. In order to avoid such travesty would it be safer for anyone in say, the US, to link up with a trustworthy member of the growery (who lives in a country where the seeds are not illegal) to send them money for the package, have them order it and forward it along w/ some ordinary looking things.

as long as the beans are coming from out of the country you're in you would still have the same amount of risk of customes taking your beans. Now if someone was from within the state and sending to someone within the states there would be no risk of customes but risk of one person of the two being law enforcements and such. seedboutique is very reliable and a good company, thats my recomendation.

a cop wouldn't actually send a person seeds and then go arrest them, I hope they have better shit to do.

Why aren't people busted for trying to purchase seeds after they've been confiscated by customs? I would imagine at the very least their name gets put on a list somewhere. Fuckin'-a the times we live in are kinda fucked up. I would venture to guess that US customs doesn't ever confiscate packages from seedbanks, and seedbanks just rip folks off if their stock is low or what-not. I mean shit, the US government can't even ensure the safety of cargo hulls at the ports against the possibility of terrorism, and they're going to spend resources on trying to keep people from growing pot? If that's the truth then I am ashamed by the inadequacies of such practices. If they're going to keep it [pot] illegal the least they could do is make sure they have the most important issues of importation covered before they worry about the little shit. And too, if anyone who wants to is growing then it will better ensure that money used to buy weed isn't funding terrorism (what a joke).

you get a confescation letter and people dont get busted immediately after because they get a letter that says get your shit and get arrested basically.
im sure a lot of growers who get seeds confiscatated that were sent to their grow op get busted.

Why are you sure of that? What actual information are you basing the idea on?

I'm sure they get black listed for having that crap sent to their house and they may be checked up on in the future.
Brows being raised = more chance of getting busted. Precautions not being made = more chance of getting busted.

Again, you are saying that you are sure, but have you actually read anything that stated that what you describe as happening has ever actually happened? I've never seen anything suggesting that it has. Obviously, it is important to take as many precautions as necessary to ensure one's own security, and having seeds shipped to a safe address is one of them (especially if it comes through Chicago's hub - also a good thing to do is ask the seed-bank in email about them packaging it the way you want), but telling people concerned about this matter that you're sure something like that is happening when there isn't any actual information to confirm as much just doesn't make sense. Warning about the potentiality of it happening and suggesting what to do to prevent risk is a great idea, though.

I've used my regular credit card, I'd be kinda cautious about what seedbanks I use it with though.
