from cutting to flower...or death...till the end either way....i want to see what they can do on a single type of poo...side by side...efficiencies wont be fixed, cause then we know what that poo lacks...or has too much of.
dog poo is a great fert, not sure if its enough for pot though...the thing is it needs to be left in the sun until it turns white....baking with high heat is a good idea to avoid bacteria....there are a couple farms here (ornamental plants) that use dog poo for their plants, and i must say their plants are nothing short of spectacular!
i have got pig, chicken and dog poo already, just letting it "cure" now...i got about 50 african land snails eating me out of house and home, should have a good baggie soon enough.
big problem is i only have enough space for 5 1-2gallon pots. so its not going to be a very conclusive experiment.
ironically i was reading this and was thinking about bat poo and people using it...then this fella flew into my living room and hit the fan (which was on high)...poor little guy is pretty dazed, but he has a shoe box with a towel and is hanging in it now...so should be ok soon wonder how to collect bat poo if there are no caves they live in here.....??????

dude if you wanna handle dog poo and find a way to dry it and bake it for a few days well then be my guest... we'll just call you the dog poo guy from now on, ahaha!
j/k.
Dog poo = no good, there is no nutrients in it, just whatever you are feeding that dog. Which sometimes isn't even good for them! seriously though, good luck w/ that.
p.s. cool bat

theres prob decent amount of nitrogen in dog poo who knows I wouldn't bother cause I wouldn't wanna handle it, or be near it. I had a friend out in the country who had 2 bats somehow get into his house kinda of a surprise we were just watching TV then outta nowhere we see a bat flying around the living room.

ya lol...thats what happened...i was on the computer and this thing flew in, then BAM right into the ceiling fan...he was gone this morning, so i guess hes ok Koons, i am in Asia, i see hundreds fly around my garden at night....getting all them damn moths and whatever else. i thought most of canada/usa had bats...just look around street lamps at night where theres lots of bugs and kind of in the country. i see a lot camping as well.
about dog poo....if you don't think i am weird enough already, i actually pay for it! the rate the plants grow with it is very impressive...although in fairness the farms i see it used are all cacti and succulent (aloe and agave farms), so not aggressive growers.
i got 2 dogs and they shit in a concrete pad we left for them, so i can jsut let the crap sit there until white and handling ain't no biggy. its not THAT disgusting....way nicer to deal with than a dirty diaper in my opinion!!! i am far more concerned about handling (not really in my hand) bird poo than certain mammals like dogs.

Seriously, for my mycology hobby, I hand process literally hundreds of pounds of horse poo...in the long run, its all dirt.

horse poo isn't bad it's hardly digested it's like handling what they eat :p it's not bad at all if it's already been dried on the field

i think pretty much all poo should by aged....just makes things easier...the sun is great in so many ways. i went to get some pots today and stopped by one of the farms that uses dog poop....it was the funniest thing i ever saw.
he is about 70 years old, and has a ton of large metal pans with dog crap baking in the sun (3 months he tells me). so i go there and i see this big propane tank hooked up to a simple burner on the ground and a wok that was a good 3 feet wide....fill with dog shit as he was flipping it around. classic, wish i had my camera!!!!
anyway, i felt bad for laughing so hard when i was there, so i bought another bag of it lol.
got a bucket of pig poo from the inlaws today....not sure i like this idea as much anymore

I'm laughing and I didn't even see the guy flipping the dog crap:Dand he sells it that's weird. Why do you not like the idea anymore because the pig crap smells real bad, probably loaded with nitrogen though. I know they have a special place in Sweden where they use aged human piss on a farm and supposedly in the old ages they used to use it as flower fertilizer aged in a big closed barrel so it didn't smell the whole street up.

tenacioustornado, ya he sells it...quite a lot too cause it works REALLY well...we shall see how it is for pot...the finished cooked dog poo product looks nothing like poo...it slight like pumice and very porous and crumbles like a hard heavy soil filled with air holes. no smell (his trays sure stink though).
i don't like the pig poo idea because....well...you try bringing home 2 5 gallon buckets of liquid pig shit home (10 KM) on a scooter....oddly, nobody looked at me strange...me wonders about these simple village folk.
Sirius, admit it man....you wouldn't be here if it wasn't at least a little bit interesting i mean, if there was no poo, all/most plant life would die.
koons. last year i peed a few times in my large (100+gallon) rivea pot...next day plant dead...pee is pretty potent...watering it down (that doesn't mean by drinking more beer) would be wise i think....personally i don't like the idea of pee in my plants, cause pee is stinky in the sun.

it's cuz of the ammonia. it's sterile and has nutrients otherwise

Urine contains nitrates which CAN be very good for you plant watered down. They also promote bacteria and your pee is sterile. I guess google "pee, compost" and see what pops up .

my pee contains a lot of toxins that could kill my plants, I'll stick to buying fertilizer.

I'll soon be using horse poo... actually it's horse/worm poo... fed with sand, rotten apples, egg shells and pruned buddha foliage. Also a little bit of newspaper. The worms love it! I expect to try some tea from an earlier, more complex mix soon. Worm poo is supposed to be wonderful for root structure and over all healthy development.
