 Male Sour Diesel

So, after 1 plant turned male, and one turned hermie, my next project was a young sour diesel sprout, I was pumped it was growing great! a little bare at the bottom from lack of better grow equipment, but the top was recovering well.
But, after only one week, IF THAT, it turned to this..
However, back to the hermie, which I UPROOTED, and SNAPPED THE HEAD OFF of, and put in a solo cup in my bathroom under one little desk lamp, and whalah, the shoots go nuts and the "buds" sprout, sorry if the pic quality blows..
So, yeah. Thats my ordeal. I need to get fem. seeds.

Not sure. Under optimal storage conditions I'd imagine you could store some seeds for quite some time, but personally I've never had any seeds that sat for longer than a few months or so.

feminized seeds are said to be from hermaphrodited plants due to stress, not genetics, pollinating itself. At least that is my understanding of such.

seeds can last a long time ive read, the author of the cannabible jason king talks about using 25 year old cannabis seeds in his hunt for rare genetics
seed breeder DJ short speaks on this to, as long as they are stored right they should be all good.

you should collect some pollen from the male in a bag and then place the bag around a single branch on your female, get plenty of seeds for your next grow
maybe make sum back crosses or something

Genetically, a cannabis plant is more or less predisposed to become male or female. This is regulated by 2 chromosomes everyone knows as the X and Y chromosomes. A plant with 2 XX chromosomes becomes female. A plant with an X and Y turns into a male. Plants have hormones that regulate it's functioning, of which gender is one of those functions. The hormone balance is genetically determined, and partly influenced by environmental factors. An example is when plant roots get damaged. The roots will produce a substance that in turn slows down leaf growth. The result is male flowers. When discussing hormone balance you get FEMALE SEED or feminized marijuana: a female is a plant with XX or only female chromosomes.
When you have a seed with just X chromosomes, you are certain this seed will grow into a plant that is genetically female. To achieve the XX only plant: a female plant is forced by a hormone called Gibberellic Acid to produce male flowers, the pollen created contains only X chromosomes, when you offer this pollen to another female plant you can be absolutely certain to get seeds which are 100% XX. Once again this seed is called FEMALE SEED. Gibberellic Acid can be found in online. It takes years for an individual to achieve the proper plant hormone manipulation to get 100% female XX seed. ive seen soo many reports of femanized seeds being male or hermies I dont see the point. Fuck just pop your 10 seeds and grab the best female. works fine

feminized seeds aren't really prone to stressing to male or hermie anymore.
I haven't grown out any feminized seeds myself but that's the general consensus.
Regular seeds are good in the sense that you get the option of keeping a male/collecting some pollen.

How does one even get seeds in the United States? Are they legal in some states that allow cultivation? Do people have to order from online vendors? Or just keep buying dank weed and hope for seeds?

I can see where your coming from (I too have seen too many reports of supposedly femenized seeds coming our hermie) but I have seen amazing results with those fem. seeds for the most part. The seeds are at best in the 90 percential of fem vaibility.
