We didn't have any problem germinating Arjan's Haze #3. We germinated two of them, along with other three strains, and out of all, they were the first to pop out of the rockwool. The price of the seeds is not related in any way with the success in germination. Sometimes, older seeds is what gives lower germination rates, and, of course, the method you're using is the most important. It is to my knowledge that the stocks for GHS are always fresh, so there shouldn't be a problem with the old age. Fresh seeds can be directly put into the medium you wish to grow, and they'll pop out without any problems. Maybe you soaked them too much? What germination method did you use?
Usually, when you are dealing with older seeds, maybe you want to try pre-popping them.
