help with flowering cycle
    #129601 - 10/06/08 03:00 PM (16 years, 2 months ago)

I am growing a haze x skunk plant indoor in soil and I am using cfls for lighting with 12/12 cycle and I am supplying with nutrients via water solution , my question is I've had this particular plant in the flowering cycle for about 2 months or so and it has yet to show any sign of flowering and I'm not sure why because on the last grow I did I used the same exact setup except the strain the one for that grow was white satin and the whole flowering period was completed at about this time, the only thing I can come up with is maybe it requires more light than the last strain, is it possible to have different light requirements for diff. strains? Any help would be much appreciated

Welcome to the Growery man. :bigweed:

Where did you get the Haze x Skunk? That wouldn't be Original Thai Haze x Skunk #1 by Sam the Skunkman, eh?
It is possible that the phenotype is very close to pure sativa, and sometimes the more equatorial strains (like the Thai) aren't so ready to start flowering under 12/12. Still kind of rare though, as the grows I've seen with that strain (I'm assuming this is the one because you also grew White Satin, and it sounds like you got it from Seed Boutique ), but I guess its possible. The best thing that I can think of is to switch it to 10 hours of daylight/14 hours of darkness.

I'd have to imagine that the plant is really huge. :whoa: Also, we have some White Satin plants in flower right now, check out the last page in our grow journal that is linked below and see how they are turning out.
Do you have any pictures of your White Satin? :ganja:

im surprised your getting off w/ flowering w/ cfls, they are known to not penetrate the canopy & cause loose buds... If you can manage to get the light to them.  what is the bulb temp? (kelvin scale, 3200K? 6400K?)

Can't wait to see the pictures. We'll be running a couple of the Thunks (the Thai Haze x Skunk #1) in our new grow. I'm sure it will be apparent in the pictures, but I'm wondering how you've got that thing trained, or how you've got the bulbs arranged around the plant. tOad, as long as he has everything set up right, CFL's could work quite well for Thunk, as it is actually sensitive to higher levels of light.
